He took pity on me, sliding his fingers out and kissing my inner thigh. This time when he mounted me, I had no energy left to flip him. I spread myself wide, agonizing over the size of his cock. He plundered into me, his every stroke a symphony of madness. I felt my body building to its conclusion again, but this time, there was no fanfare.
I came hard, the entire boat exploding around me. There was a shock wave that passed through my body, starting in my cunt and blowing out past my ears and my toes. With the dim presence I still retained, I could feel him clenching. He released his load, clutching my hips, draining his life force into my body.
Our privates throbbed, the constant rubbing sending echoes of passion deep into our bones. I took a moment to collect myself, feeling like I was going to pass out. He put his hands on the bed beside me, dropping his head onto my chest. We lay like two worn-out passengers aboard the Love Boat, exhausted and relieved.
I found the energy somehow to stroke his hair. I wanted to say I love you. The words hovered on the tip of my tongue. But they were dangerous words, words you could never take back. So instead, I said, “I missed you.”
“Oh baby,” he murmured, removing himself from inside my body, “I missed you too.”
I glanced around the little cabin, thinking that I was forgetting something. It wasn’t often that I had sex and could just hang around to bask in the afterglow. Ordinarily I would have to get up and keep moving. There was always something more to do, someone else to attack or defend or some mission to accomplish.
“Linc,” I said sleepily.
“He’s fine,” Theo grumbled, reaching for his pants.
“Do you think we should tell him he can come back?” I asked, wondering if I should get dressed but not wanting to move.
“No,” Theo said, returning to my side. He kissed my cheek and pulled me up against him, laying his head back down on the pillow. “He’ll be fine right where he is.”
“Mmm,” I murmured. I liked the sound of that. If we didn’t invite Linc back onto our boat, that bought us several more hours of privacy.
“Where are you headed?” Theo asked conversationally.
“Jasmine said we should go to the Marshall Islands. We could get picked up there,” I reported, feeling the tug of sleep. It had been a long time since I’d satisfied that basic need, and with Theo by my side I thought I had a good chance of actually catching forty winks.
“And then what?” he asked, not so much an interrogation, but a checking of facts among team members.
“Then America,” I sighed. “To try to find you.”
“Maybe we just sail off together,” he suggested, pushing my hair aside so that he could kiss my throat. “Forget Linc and Lukas and Regg. We’ll just disappear.”
I turned to face him, pressing my nose against his nose in sheer delight. “Seriously?”
“Why not?”
I sighed, remembering the hit list we’d found earlier. I had a feeling that bigger things were brewing than just an assault on Theo and me. Regg wanted us out of the way because we were on to something. I couldn’t tell for sure who was in danger of becoming the next target, but I didn’t want it to be someone else I cared about. What if Z was next in line, or Lukas? What if one of Theo’s relatives stood to lose everything? No, we couldn’t just run away, no matter how wonderful that might sound.
“We can’t,” I murmured, burying my head in his chest. “I found a hit list.”
“A hit list?” he repeated, stroking my hair. It was the kind of pillow talk that only spies and assassins engaged in, but it felt natural coming from him.
“Yeah, an organization called New Dawn,” I reported.
“I’ve never heard of them,” he said.
“Neither have I,” I agreed. “But we have to get this information back to Z and Lukas. And we have to stop your pal Regg from bringing down the British government.”
“Do we have to?” Theo complained, sounding exactly like an overgrown child.
I poked him in the ribs, accidentally connecting with his bandage. He flinched and curled up around me, making it clear that there was still a good amount of pain.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered hurriedly.
“It’s okay,” he said, straightening out once the sensation passed.
“Is it bad?” I asked, pushing him over onto his back so I could check out the wound.
“On a scale of one to ten, it’s a four,” he answered.
