Pulling Abby close to him, Carson laughed. “I’m still stunned, but a huge corporation just commissioned wallpaper art of the photographs for all their offices.”

As everyone shouted their congratulations, Abby leaned against Carson. “I’m so happy for you.”

“We have so much to talk about,” he said. “But let me get the bubbly. We have to celebrate being together again.”

Chapter Seventeen

By the time they’d reached the hotel room, Carson was still on a high. All his photographs had been sold, and he’d received quite a few commissions that Noah would email him about in the new week.

What made the night extra special though, was that Abby was here. As he closed the bedroom door behind them, he pulled her close. “Thank you for being here tonight. It wouldn’t have been nearly as special if I couldn’t celebrate the good news with you. Which is why I thought I’d wait until tomorrow, but I want to do this right now. Stay here, I’ll be right back.” He hurried toward the closet where he’d left the small box.

“Carson …”

Something in her voice stopped him in his tracks and he turned around quickly.

“What?”

Abby was very pale again. “I’m sorry, but I’m so tired.”

With two steps, he reached her and picked her up. “Of, course.”

As he put her down on the bed, her eyes fluttered closed. Not quite the ending to the day he had in mind, but Abby was here, that was all that mattered, anyway.

“Join me?” she muttered as she turned on her side.

Exhaling, he pulled his shirt over his head. They would have to talk about her being so pale tomorrow.

When Abby opened her eyes again it was early morning. Somewhere during the night, she’d gotten rid of her clothes. Carson was again lying behind her, his hands on her tummy.

She’d been so tired last night she couldn’t keep her eyes open. Right now, she was absolutely fine. Anyway, there wasn’t anything she could do about it right now, but she was in bed with a very sexy cowboy, one who was leaving to go back to Marietta later today.

Placing her hands over his, she moved her body ever so slightly.

“You awake?” Carson’s voice was deliciously husky.

“Oh, yeah. You?”

He pushed against her. “That awake enough for you?” he teased.

Turning so that she was facing him, she grinned. “I’m not sure, I have to see.”

As her hand trailed down his body, he stopped it with a slight frown. “How are you feeling?”

“How do you think I’m feeling?” she teased as she cupped him.

With a groan, he gathered her close. “You had me worried.”

Pushing him back against the pillows, she straddled him. “Let me show you exactly how fine I am.”

“My turn,” Abby purred as she bent down and trailed her mouth over his body.

Carson sighed in relief. He’d been worried about her, but look at her now. Breasts swaying, her thighs clasped tightly around his body, her head thrown back, her long hair falling over her shoulders, she was like his own personal goddess.

With her eyes on him, she slipped down his body, her mouth following the path of those small, busy hands. Around them, the air became too thick to breathe; each gulp made his head spin.
