I get too close to one.

Volik growls.

I throw my gravito to the right. My shoulder grazes the trunk.

Volik hisses. At the tree.

But it doesn’t cut me.

It doesn’t so much as scratch me.

Because I have vampire skin now.

“You have been keeping secrets,” Volik calls from behind me.

Our heartbeat is flying. Same as us.

I know he could catch me.

He literally broke the sound barrier.

But the chase… is fun.

I cut to the left.

“This is the last one!” I call out.

“Promise?” Volik’s voice sounds beside my ear.

I scream.

Strong arms wrap around me from behind.

“Caught you.”

We jerk to a stop.

Volik holds my body against his front as we hang in the air.

His gravito overpowers mine.

And mine happily submits.

“What are you gonna do with me?” I pant.

Neither of us attempts to slow our thundering pulse.

Volik drags his nose up the side of my face. “Whatever I want.”

Lust bursts through my body.

Volik releases his gravito, and we drop.

His shoes hit the forest floor. Mine don’t reach.

“Hands out.”

Volik grinds his length against my ass as I lift my hands.
