I put a hand on Rune’s shoulder and guide her over to the other couch. “Sit with me.”
She drops onto the cushion. And I’m lowering myself beside her when she lets out a squeak and darts her hand over my lap to stop my robe from slipping open.
“Sorry,” Rune laughs as she tucks the robe around me. “You almost got a face full.”
Volik grunts as Nix laughs.
The short length is practically at my knees when I sit, and I have nothing on beneath, so I press my knees together. “I have not had time to find clothes that fit.”
Volik stands. “Haruto is still making clothes. You will need to go yourself to get a custom wardrobe, but you can borrow mine if they fit.”
Chapter 73
Nix
“I’d appreciate that,” Vameer says as he stands.
Now that I look at it, his robe does look too short. And torn in places. And then there’s the fact that his belt is a chain.
Volik has told me so much about his brother that I feel like I know him.
But if I didn’t know who he was… I’d think he was a little terrifying.
Vameer looks exactly like what he is. A man of war.
My mate starts to unbutton his shirt.
I blink at him. “What are you doing?”
Volik keeps unbuttoning his shirt as he looks at me. “We will see if he can fit into my clothing.”
A quick glance over shows that Vameer is pulling one of his bare arms free from his robe.
Rather than trying to convince the brothers to go do this in private, I get to my feet. “Rune, are you hungry?”
“Starved.” The other woman snickers as she stands.
She’s probably aware that I’m using this as an excuse to leave the room. Not that we wouldn’t enjoy the strip show. But it just feels very awkward watching them undress.
Plus, I was really hungry during my changes. So it’ll be productive.
We both glance at the men one last time, then I hook my arm through hers, and we leave the room, heading toward the kitchen.
Chapter 74
Vameer
Volik smiles while he shoves his shirt off.
He’s smiled more in the past hour than I think I’ve ever seen before.
“I’m happy for you,” I tell him.
He looks in the direction of our women. “She is everything I ever wanted.”
His tone is pure sincerity. And I believe him. Because I feel the same way.
“I understand.” I push the robe off my right arm. “I think I was waiting for her. For Rune to wake me up.”
