After a minute, Vameer starts to pull out, and his release drips out of me.

I squeak and tense my muscles. “Vameer!”

“What?” He squeezes my ass cheeks.

Legs spread around his big body, I do my best to clench as I shove my hand back down between us and pull my panties back into place. “I don’t know what’s below us.”

His brow furrows. “Below us?” Then they lift. “Ah.”

I press my lips together to keep from laughing.

I think we jumped straight up. But there’s a breeze.

I’ll need to research what altitude is required for mess to evaporate before it reaches the ground.

Undies in place, I relax against Vameer’s chest again, watching my exhales dance in the sky.

Vameer purrs. “Thank you for my bracelet.”

I smile at his sincerity. “You’re welcome.”

“I have a surprise for you too.”

“Oh?”

He hums. “But we need Dread. And I’m not wearing this.”

Chapter 156

Vameer

With her hand over her eyes, Rune walks through the portal behind me.

I take a breath as it closes. “You can look.”

She lowers her hand. And her eyes widen as she recognizes the location.

“Holy shit!” Rune’s brows lift. “It’s your cave.”

“Sí.” I smile down at my mate.

Her clear excitement pushes away the uncertainty I had over bringing her here.

She grins up at me. “We’re going inside, right?”

I nod. “Sí.”

The path climbing the side of the mountain is narrow. But the sun is out. The wind is low. And the view from here is stunning.

Rune looks out, taking it in.

And I watch her.

I wanted to bring her here to give her a better memory.

I think about how scary it must’ve been the first time she was here.

Alone. In a storm. Not knowing what was happening or why.
