“You were made for me.”

The touch of his hands, the sound of his voice, the feel of the rain pounding down on us – every moment of tonight has been tattooed on my mind.

“I love you, Hellcat.”

My eyes fly open when there’s a hesitant knock on the door, taking in my now flushed cheeks.

How am I ready for round two so quickly?

I smirk at myself and call out. “Everything okay?”

Nate’s voice beyond the door is a deep rumble that sends a tingle of awareness straight through me. “I have some dry clothes, Hellcat.”

As if I’ve only just recalled that I’m sodding wet, I look down along my body, noting that my white t-shirt dress is plastered to my skin and completely see-through.

My white lingerie underneath is clearly visible, and I glance behind to see my ass is covered in muck from the tumble I’d had on the forest floor.

I open the door, revealing a topless Nate, his tanned, muscular chest spanning across my line of vision, with a bath towel looped around his waist. My stomach – and sex – fill with butterflies at the sight.

Insatiable hussy!

He steps forward, a mischievous grin on his face, his singular dimple winking cheekily at me, knowing damn well what I’m thinking. “Here. Let me help you.”

The corner of my mouth lifts in a wry grin as he peels the see-through dress from my body, tossing it in the bathtub.

Next, he unhooks my bra, throwing it alongside the ruined dress. When he steps back, his eyes find mine and hold them as I drag my panties down my slick legs.

Once I’m bared to him, his eyes move the length of my body, taking it in with reverence, lingering on my curves for long minutes before his gaze finally returns to mine.

I quirk a brow, goosebumps scattering along every inch of me. “Had your fill yet?”

“When I’m appreciating perfection, I’ll never have enough, Hellcat.”

Well played, Hawthorne!

He drops a black t-shirt over my head, plainly one of his, as it’s long enough to almost reach my knees, and folds me against him, holding me tight.

“I have a fire going.” He pinches my chin between his thumb and forefinger, dropping a kiss on my lips before draping his arm over my shoulder.

“Come and dry off, baby.”

A thrill goes through me at the endearment. It flows so naturally from his mouth that I don’t think hearing it will ever grow old.

The living area is lit up by the flames of a dancing fire in the enormous stone fireplace. Nate has set up a makeshift bed in front of it with all manner of blankets and pillows strewn around. The entire setup looks entirely too comfortable.

He turns to face me, chest puffed, a proud look on his handsome face.

“I love it.” My contented little giggle turns to a howl of laughter when he scoops me from the floor into his embrace to pepper my face with a dozen kisses before pulling back.

My hands are resting on his shoulders as he looks up into my eyes, and we absorb one another’s presence for a beat.

His eyes are dark, swirling, and intensely fixed upon mine. I can feel the power of his words before he’s ever spoken them.

“I love you.”

He nudges the tip of my nose with his own, his eyes twinkling merrily, and I legitimately question if it’s possible to die from happiness.

I can feel my cheeks heat when I whisper my response. “I love you too.”
