He shook his head. “You need to get personal.”

I rolled my eyes. “Not everyone can donate an organ to win over the girl.”

He smirked while Erik squatted in front of me. “You need something good,” Erik said. “Something big.”

“Like a proposal?” The idea sounded preposterous as it came out of my mouth, but when I thought about it, I changed my mind. That would be perfect. She would see how committed I was. It was something I’d wanted to do before the Olympics, so why not?

“No. That’s a terrible idea.” Erik made a sour face. “You want her to know you’re serious, not crazy.”

“Then what?”

They turned to each other and rattled off a few ideas that I quickly turned down. Dinner was too boring. Horseback riding didn’t give us enough of a chance to talk, plus she had a faster way to run from me if things went wrong.

“You need to get sentimental.” Erik said, almost to himself.

“Recreate a date.”

We all looked to our left to see Chloe walking toward us.

“Really?” Erik asked his sister.

“Yeah, it proves you value those memories. It will take her back to the time she loved you. She’ll remember all the good things about you.”

Wyatt narrowed his eyes. “It’s genius.”

“I’m aware.” Chloe spun and walked away as quickly as she appeared.

“That woman’s abilities sometimes scare me.” I muttered, not wanting to offend Erik but he was nodding.

“Just be glad she’s on our side.”

“Poor Reese,” Wyatt said, and then turned back to me. “So, you needed to recreate a date. What are you going to do?”

“I don’t know.”

Erik slapped my shoulder. “Think about it. What was an important date for you?”

“Uh. There’s our first date. The first time I took her to the arena.”

Wyatt scoffed. “Pass.”

I glared at Wyatt but kept going. “The time I asked her to be my girlfriend.”

“Sap.” Erik said with a chuckle.

I shook my head. These two were making this harder. “The first wedding we went to.” I paused. “The first time we said I love you.”

“That!” Erik clapped.

“Really?” I hesitated.

Wyatt nodded. “Definitely.”

“Guys, it wasn’t the most romantic setting.”

Erik ignored me. “That’s great. It will prove you remember, which means a lot to women.”

I nodded. I remembered every moment of our time together. It was burned in my brain and heart.
