“You,” she says breathlessly.

“That’s my good girl.”

I pick up my sweats off the floor and put them back on. She is still trying to regulate her breathing, still sitting on the altar, but I grab her hips and lift her off of it. Celine stands on wobbly legs as I bend down to grab her nightgown. With her in front of me, I take this moment to admire the way our arousal is dripping down her thigh.

I wet my lips at the sight before standing up with her nightgown in hand, and place it over her head, helping her maneuver her arms through the sleeves. When her gown falls over her body, I lift her chin, giving her a mischievous grin.

“Don’t wipe it off. I want to know that you’re walking around with my cum all over your thigh tomorrow.”

She sucks in a sharp breath, and I close the distance, letting our lips hover over each other.

“I take it back,” she says.

My heart sinks, thinking she is going to say she isn’t actually obsessed with me. Making this high I’m on start to fade. I back away from her and ask, “What do you mean?”

“Calling you a prude, when you are clearly far from it.” Contentment spreads across her face, and relief fills my body. “I didn’t think you had it in you.”

Letting go of the doubt that occupied my mind, I admit, “I tried telling you.”

She shrugs. “I have issues with listening.”

“Oh, I know.” A chuckle leaves me as I tug her closer. We take a moment to come back to reality, our foreheads pressed together.

“What are we going to do about Father Keaton?” Celine asks softly.

My eyes dance between hers, and I sigh. “I’ll figure something out. I don’t want you to worry about it. Just go about your days as normal, and let’s enjoy this.”

“Even though he knows what we are doing?”

“I don’t care if he knows, Celine. All I care about is you.”

A sheepish smile spreads across her face. “Okay.”

“Go get some sleep.” I kiss her one more time before backing away and releasing her from my hold. “I need to clean this all up.”

“Do you want help?” she offers.

“I’ll manage.”

She stares at the mess we made, her smile never dimming. Turning back to me, Celine pushes up on her toes and kisses me one more time before sneaking out of the chapel.

Chapter 33

Father Alexander

It took me an hour to clean up last night. After having to dispose of the cloth in a dumpster out back and finding a new one in the laundry room to lay on the altar, as well as something to soak up all the holy water that was spilled, I was beat.

Between the long flight, fucking Celine, and cleaning, I went to my room and passed out. I didn’t even bother changing out of my sweats before I fell onto my bed and let the darkness consume me.

This morning I slept in, which I never do, but it was much needed. I’ve never been so exhausted in my life, but when the clock on my nightstand read nine-thirty, I knew I had to fight through the fatigue and get on with my day.

I showered, got dressed, and went to the dining hall, but by the time I got there, breakfast was over, and the room was empty. The women had already gone to their lesson for the day, but I was able to grab a muffin from the kitchen. It sits half-eaten on my desk as I stare at my computer screen, dissociating.

Movement in the hall brings me back to reality, and I see Father Keaton standing in the doorway to my office. A kind smile is plastered on his face, and his expression doesn’t let on that he knows anything, or that I do. But then again, he probably assumes that I haven’t spoken to Celine yet.

“How was the visit with your mother?” his tone is friendly, but it only makes my body feel on fire with how normal he is acting.

I swallow the anger, letting it sit deep in my stomach. “It was good. Very much needed.”
