“Demi!” Raelynn yelled. “You said you wouldn’t kill her!”

Edmund shrugged. “I didn’t say I wouldn’t harm her. She was talking too much and getting on my nerves.”

Tears pooled in her eyes as she stared at Demi’s lifeless form.

“Don’t worry, she’s not dead, but she will have some injuries when they find her,” Edmund taunted. “Victor! Come and get this girl and drop her off near the Springfield Sinners’ clubhouse.”

A massive burley man she didn’t know walked into the room and roughly picked up Demi before leaving. He had a scar running down his arm, a fresh pink scar.

“Nothing else is going to happen to her, right?” Raelynn asked.

“What are you willing to do if I say yes?” Edmund tilted his head to the side.

“Anything,” she blurted before she could stop herself. “I’m willing to do anything if nothing happens to Demi and she gets safely back to the clubhouse.”

Raelynn shouldn’t have said that, but Demi’s life was on the line. While Edmund said he wouldn’t kill her, he knew a whole lot of ways to make people suffer. Rae didn’t want Demi to go through that. She didn’t deserve it.

A wicked smile spread across his face as he knelt in front of her. “Anything?”

There was no going back. Raelynn nodded. “Anything.”

She just hoped that Daddy found her before said anything happened to her. Daddy must be worried sick, doing everything in his power to figure out where she was and how to get her back.

“Okay, nothing more will happen to the girl,” he replied. “But when the time comes, and you don’t do what I ask, don’t think I’ll just let it slide. There are other ways to get to her and do something. Or I could just take it out on you.”

“When have I ever backed out of anything?” she asked.

He scoffed and gripped her face. “We are going to have so much fun with you.”

Edmund stood up and looked down at her before walking toward the door.

“We?” Her eyes went wide when she realized what he said.

He gave her one fleeting look, a wicked smile across his face. “Yes, we. Did you expect I would be alone this time?”

“Wait!”

He shook his head. “You knew this would happen if I caught you. Seems like you really want it.”

Edmund walked out of the room, shutting the door and leaving her in the dark once again. What was he talking about? Raelynn couldn’t remember him saying anything that.

Leaning her head against the wall, she took several deep breaths in. Now wasn’t the time to panic. She needed to get her head wrapped around everything and figure out how she was going to get out of these ropes and out of this room.

Raelynn rolled to her side and blinked… not that it did anything. Wherever Edmund was holding her was pitch black, so she couldn’t see anything, and Rae wasn’t smart enough to look around when he did have the lights on. Now she was stuck, fearful that if she walked anywhere, she was going to step on something and hurt herself.

Was Daddy looking for her or had they given up a long time ago?

No.

She couldn’t think about that. Daddy said he had looked for her every single day since he promised he would be back for her. He told everyone about her and really searched for her, which meant he would be looking now for her.

Yes. Daddy was actively looking for her, and he was going to find her and make sure that she was safe once again. She just hoped nothing happened until then.

Light cracked into the room, blinding her.

“He-hello?” she hesitantly said and blinked several times to get her eyes used to the brightness.

“Edmund said you would be in here,” a sickly sweet voice said.
