“Brother, Alexiana,” I hear Linc whisper, and my husband chokes, “I’ve got her, but uh, Trick, be ready, brother.”

“I’m on it,” I hear Trick reply before I feel the warmest hands touch mine, the tingling covering my body slowly bringing me back, and I blink, causing several sobs to echo before I blink again and lock eyes with the ones who hurt me.

“Hey, long time no see, baby,” he rasps, and my tears fall, Trick’s words swimming in my head, that we have to prepare ourselves before all I see is red, my son's blood, and Hayes grips my hands tighter as the scream slowly builds.

He shakes his head and chokes, “I’m here, Alexiana, I’m here,” but the scream erupts with a loud, “No!” coming out as my whole body shakes and Hayes quickly takes me into his arms and I fight him, needing to see my baby, needing to get to him and I scream louder when I can’t get free and I hear Linc shout, “Trick!” before suddenly the man himself is in front of me.

I try to kick him away from me, and he just dodges me, making him curse before suddenly a needle is stabbed into my exposed stomach, and a cold sensation rushes through me, and I slur, “N-n-n-o, please, K-Kay-Kayden…” and everything goes black as Hayes holds me tight, sobbing in my neck.

Chapter 12

Crusher

I run a hand through my hair in frustration as I stare at the bed where my wife is laying. I cannot express how much I have fucking missed her. She is still not awake from the sedative Trick had to give her, a sedative he nearly stabbed in his own arm when she fought back, and I drop my head as she whimpers, “Kayden…” in her sleep.

Fuck, I feel like I can’t breathe, like this is a nightmare I can’t seem to wake up from.

I’ve gone from finally looking at my wife again after eight years to trying to save our seven-year-old son, who is the spitting image of me and didn’t even know existed, and is currently on life support.

Yeah, he survived the surgery, but his body is struggling.

“Brother?” I hear Blaze whisper, and I shake my head as my tears fall, my body trembling, my emotions too much to fucking handle right now.

So much is going through my head, and all I can think about is if I hadn’t made that fucked up mistake with Roxy, then my wife and son would be at home safe. I wouldn’t be at risk losing both, I wouldn’t have missed all this fucking time.

Fuck, she hated me that much, I hurt her that much by choosing my club, something I regret every single fucking day, she kept our child from me, and only three fucking hours away.

“She loses our son, I will lose her permanently,” I croak before suddenly arms are wrapped around my head and I let out a sob, crying in my big brother's arms while he holds me tight.

Eight years, I’ve been trying to get her to come home for eight years after my fuck up. Not once but twice, and the first time I see her, she’s screaming for her son, our fucking son, a son I didn’t even know about. I can’t even process the fact that I’m a father. I’ve missed so many years of his life and I could lose him, I could lose her, heck, the nurse banned all non-family members from his room because apparently I’m not on the birth certificate and Trick is trying to get it overturned.

Fuck, this is just too much.

“I’ve got you, little brother,” Blaze chokes, and I sob harder as the door to the room opens and then closes again, but I don’t look up, I lean on my brother for support, gripping his arm.

I don’t know how to handle this shit, I just fucking don’t.

I’m a dad, my wife kept our son from me, I fuck, I had his blood all over my hands…

Blaze leans back and cups the back of my neck and says firmly, “He’s going to make it, you won’t lose him, and you won’t lose your girl, I fucking promise you, please little brother, have faith.”

My tears fall as my dad confirms, “He’s right. Why she kept him from you right now doesn’t matter, all that matters is that you help her through this. You have faith he’ll wake up and make a full recovery, and then you can wife that girl up.”

“Fuck’s sake, Killer!” Blaze snaps just as a sweet voice croaks, “We’re already married,” Dad and Blaze look at her in shock, then at me, while I look at my girl, whose tears fall, and I see it all come back to her, our son, the absolute heartbreak.

“It wasn’t a-a nightmare,” she whispers, and I shake my head as a small sob leaves her, her body trembling. “Why-why aren’t y-you with our son?” she demands quietly, her voice still croaky as she tries to control her emotions.

“The nurse says family only and that I’m not on the birth certificate,” I admit lowly, hurt, lacing my tone that she didn’t even do that.

“T-then I suggest you-you have her-her fired, y-you are on the certificate, and y-you are his s-second emergency contact,” she croaks, and I frown as Dad says, “That’s why I came to find you, son. The woman wanted to hurt you enough so that you’d sleep with her. Trick, even though he has no sway here, has already got her fired. I thought you’d want to see him, but then, well, you know…”

Shit.

“You put me on his birth certificate?” I whisper, my heart hammering, and she nods once as she slowly sits up, wincing most likely at the pain in her head.

“Tell me,” She demands, trying to be strong, and Dad mutters, “Fuck,” while I eye her hands fisting the mattress, her wedding ring, still in place, catching my attention and Blaze’s because he chokes, “Fuck me, you two really did get married!”

“We did, and then two months later, he broke his vows,” Alexiana snaps, her anger coming through, and as we lock eyes, she states, “Took comfort in another woman because his dad is a dick,” Dad flinches, “He kissed a whore, groped her, pinched her nipple.”
