The Static Trip

Lucian was so much less stressed now.

Everything was set up, and they were in a big circle in the middle of the waiting area.

Thanks to Booth and Raven, they were safe, and they could take a little trip into the static to show Genesis what her gift entailed.

Now, thankfully, nothing would touch them in here.

He hoped.

The last thing Lucian wanted was chaos in the static. He wasn’t going to be able to control much of anything in there without Ridge.

Riding off of Avalon’s gift, they would be at the mercy of her power.

That worried him, but when would the three of them ever be in the same room again together to do this? If what she said about them was true, and this was their destiny from the start, it was time to see what would happen.

Because he was a curious person, and the static was calling to him.

God.

His body craved Ridge’s, and he was desperate to get into the static to burn off some of that anxiety.

Hopefully, all went well.

More important than him burning off energy, this was going to be an introduction to see exactly what Genesis had in her when it came to her gift.

Oracle seemed to know, but that was out of his pay grade.

Apparently.

Both he and Genesis were clueless, and hopefully, they’d understand when they came out again.

Lucian was nervous.

And he wasn’t alone.

Both Avalon’s husband and Genesis’ new one were all kinds of twitchy.

Oh, and he understood that.

“What if I screw this up?” Genesis asked, feeling the tension in her husband’s body. He was hovering, and she could feel his concern.

Avalon reassured her.

“You can’t really screw it up. I’ll keep you protected, and we’ll go in and get you familiar with it. We might need the three of us to find him, if you adjust to the static this first trip in. If not, we can keep trying.”

Lucian knew what she was saying.

To want to maneuver in the static was one thing. They didn’t know if Genesis would be open to it.

She could hate it.

Then, it was up to them to take care of this entity when they encountered him.

A lot was riding on this.
