That was when he began pulling off his things, and she did the same thing.

There was a desperation there, one that couldn’t be calmed down. There was something pulling at them and pushing them together.

It was wild.

Frenetic.

It was desperation.

Josh needed his woman.

He wanted one thing from her, and one thing alone.

“Be my wife,” he whispered as that need for her took over. The words echoed between them, as the cool calm wrapped around them, like it was protection from what was hunting her.

Nothing was getting in.

They.

Were.

Safe.

As long as they stuck together, nothing could hurt them.

When they were both naked, he scooped her up landed with her on the bed.

They bounced, and there was laughter and love all around them.

The room contained that energy, and it sent licks of pleasure across their bodies.

It felt like…a spell.

It is. Bind yourselves together.

Genesis didn’t know what that meant, but it didn’t sound unpleasant. The calm in Oracle’s voice soothed her.

“I don’t want to be me without you,” she whispered as he stared down at her.

That made his heart skip.

Knowing she wanted and loved him was the fuel he needed to dig in and do battle for her.

ALWAYS.

“I’ll always be here for you. That’s my promise, Genesis. I swear on my whole life that I will never leave your side until we’re old and die hours apart.”

And she wanted that.

More than anything.

“Love me,” she whispered.

Oh, he did.

The scent of wife-to-be, if she was planning to marry him, overwhelmed him, and all Josh wanted was to lock them together with a lock that could never be undone.

So do it. Make the vow, say the words, and get the girl.
