“Believe me, that’s on the agenda. But right now, I’m enjoying the view. And I wanted to talk to you.” As he spoke, he took her hand, tracing idle patterns on her palm.
“Is something wrong?”
“No. Just he opposite. I just wanted tell you how desperately in love with you I am. In case you didn’t already know”
He watched her face, the joy that filled it, and it humbled him more than he could imagine. She felt that for him. She’d chosen him.
Her smile was bright as sunshine, and she grinned as she moved her hand to the blanket, then very slowly and deliberately, pushed it off the couch.
“Now,” she whispered. “Make love to me now.”
Oh, yes.
He bent over her, his lips to hers, then down to her breasts, lower still so he could taste her. He explored her. Cherished her. Worshipped her. Every bit of skin, every soft place, every sweet secret. He knew her so intimately. She was in him, and he was in her.
Only when she couldn’t take it anymore and writhed beneath him, begging him to fuck her, did he finally undress. They made love right there on the sofa, then again in the bedroom, a bottle of wine and two glasses on the side table.
When they were finally sated and a little bit drunk, they curled up together, limbs intertwined, and Jasper realized that the shift was finally complete. Sandra and Bonnie were still part of him, but now they were his past.
And Zelda was his present and all his days to come.
