“You’re my destiny, Thane. I can never be with anyone else. So when you ask me if I love you, the answer is yes. Always has been and always will be, hell, yes.”
She shifted so our faces were about an inch apart.
“Kiss me?” Her eyes sparkled.
“Yes, my darling. Always.”
And we pressed our mouths together.
“Cut!” The director’s order reverberated through me.
I wasn’t quite ready to face her, though, so I met Norah’s gaze a moment longer. “You okay?”
She grinned. “You know, half that wasn’t even in the script. I don’t know how that’s going to go over, but that performance was freaking brilliant.”
“Okay you two, let’s talk.” The director grinned.
Norah and I sat up, clutching the sheet to our chests.
I gazed out over the small group of people. When we did sex scenes, we had a closed set.
Yet Freddie was here.
Our gazes clashed.
My world shifted.
Oh shit.
Chapter Ten
Freddie
Iwatched the garage door closing while listening carefully to Andreas clomping up the stairs. The guy had to be exhausted. I was merely an observer, but I’d been drained by the end of that. In hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have even been on the set. Andreas wasn’t in any danger.
Chaz had never shown his face.
The studio had tight controls on everyone who came and went.
A closed set meant only essential cast and crew.
Yet Valentino insisted I stay. Off in the corner away from the action…but to stay.
Does he know? I certainly didn’t say anything, and I doubt Andreas did either…
I couldn’t be certain. All I knew was his performance outshone anything he’d ever done before. By what the director said, she hadn’t been expecting such an emotional performance.
On the third take, Norah needed tissues. Both of them had completely sunk into Thane and Izzie. Hell, I believed his apology. And clearly she’d forgiven him as well. Not just in the script. I was certain Norah would’ve taken Andreas back, even if the script hadn’t called for their characters to ride off into the sunset together.
Weird how the most intimate and climactic scene—which came near the end of the movie—was being shot on the fourth day.
“Freddie?” Andreas’s voice carried down to where I was.
“Yes?” I hotfooted upstairs, concerned about his plaintive tone. “What’s wrong?”
“I…I think I need a shower.”
“Sure. You know where the bathroom is. Fresh towels and everything.”
