“I’m bored, man. We never go out together to do anything,” Abel said and leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest.

“You know why we don’t go out together.”

“Yeah, I know, but bro, all we do is work and kill people, and my work helps me kill people.”

“Are you saying you’d prefer not to kill people?” My hand relaxed on the fork I’d been preparing to use.

“No, of course not. I’d just like for us to do more. We’re in a rut, always doing the same thing. Work, eat, sleep, fuck, kill. Not necessarily in that order. Don’t you want to travel? We could go to Egypt and see the pyramids, or go to Greece, or….”

“The answer is no. I have no interest in getting on a plane. I have no interest in changing my habits. I have no interest in seeing the world or anything else. I like my life just the way it is.” Abel slumped in his chair, his face very close to the same pout as when we were children. “If you want to travel, let me know what weeks, and I will make sure to hunt while you’re away. It will help solidify our alibi.”

“I meant for us to do something together.”

Pushing the chair away from the table, I stood and put my plate in the dishwasher. “I know what you meant, and I also know that it’s not possible. Maybe take up a new hobby, or how about you join a dating app?”

“A dating app? Do you really think they have dating apps for serial killers?” Abel tapped his chin as he thought. “You know that’s not a bad idea…anyway, I don’t want to date. That shit’s way too much work. Like this girl you got downstairs, too much work.”

“I’m not dating her. She is…an experiment, and her eyes are special,” I said as I began cleaning the kitchen.

Abel may cook a meal, but he’d rarely cleaned up after himself. I’m surprised his house didn’t have mice lined up to sit at a special small table with small plates of food and belching as they sat on his lap.

“Right. Sure. Like I believe that crap.”

“Believe what you want.” I finished wiping the grease off the stove that Abel had managed to get everywhere and tossed the cloth into the garbage. “You can see yourself out.”

“What? You mean we’re not going to jerkoff to our homemade videos?”

“Not tonight, and if you’re going to do that, go home.” I walked out of the kitchen to a litany of swearing. The restlessness that was coming off Abel lately was palpable, and it was making me edgy.

I was halfway to my bedroom when the front door slammed. Changing my mind, I wandered down to the living room and flicked on the television before going to pour myself a drink. Getting comfortable in my chair, I decided to watch the show that starred my Sunshine. Flicking on the television, I sat back and studied her in her new surroundings.

My Sunshine was highly entertaining, and I had to give her a point for enthusiasm. She certainly wasn’t cowering in a ball and praying to god, which was refreshing from what I normally brought home to kill.

I took a sip of my scotch on the rocks as my eyes focused on every little move she made. She was currently exploring the extent of her bindings, and I laughed as she threw a tantrum that I found cute. I didn’t find things cute, yet it was the only word that made sense to describe the meltdown.

Her fists beat against the wall as she yanked on the chains. She looked wild, primal even, and my cock stirred at the thought of taming her. There was very little I found beautiful. The morning rays of sunshine, the sight of my artwork, and now I could add Kirby to that list. I enjoyed having my own personal Sunshine. Her hair was in a wild mess of waves, and her eyes flashed with frustration and anger. She had spirit.

Sitting back, I contemplated what my next move should be as she continued to explore her boundary. It really came down to when I wanted to kill her. Right now, I didn’t have an exact date, but that could change tomorrow or the next day. Leaving her death date open was breaking my rule, but it was worth seeing how long it took to…to what exactly?

That was the question.

Did I want to turn her into a pet to play with or a lover for physical needs? Did I want to mold her into something more… maybe something close to a partner. My finger tapped the glass, the cubes the only noise in the room. Abel would hate that, no, Abel would fucking hate that. My lips curled up at the thought of annoying my brother and the possibility of gaining a partner who understood my quirks and needs better than Abel. Someone I wouldn’t have to keep a choke hold on at all times and could be useful in a multi-faceted way.

She stepped into the bathroom, and I loved how she tried not to touch the soft pajamas I’d left for her, but she couldn’t help herself. I saw a woman burning with a desire to rip away the fake exterior that she hated and embrace the darker side of her personality. My Sunshine didn’t know it yet, but she’d learn how to hold a blade, crave blood, and kill without remorse. She’d learn to love it or die on my table. Either way was a win.

Like other children, I’d never understood the fascination of having a small pet in a cage. Gerbils, hamsters, bunnies, and fish were all the rage while I was growing up, and I’d see the other children smiling as they stared at their little companions. Was this what they saw? Was this what they felt?

Kirby fought with what was left of the blouse and finally ripped it off, leaving her in just the lacy bra. She had great lines like a statue. She fluffed out her hair, which lay on her shoulders and almost covered the entire front of the bra. All I saw was Lady Godiva. I suddenly had the urge to paint her. Lifting my hand, I made the strokes I wanted to do with the brush and my cock when I was through.

Once she was curled up with her back to the wall and the blanket pulled up tight to her chin, I flicked the television off and continued to plot as I headed to bed.

KIRBY

As soon as I had no more tears left to cry, I slowly pushed myself off the thick-foam mattress on the floor. Turning, I stared at the rails that were wide as my forearm. They lined the wall and disappeared around the corner. Reaching out, I wrapped my hands around the bar that held me captive. It was higher than my head and cold to the touch, but it felt solid. I couldn’t figure out how he managed to get these in place and not have any support attached to the walls, but at least I could see. To be left like this in complete darkness would’ve taken the terror to another level.

I gave the binding a slight tug, and the thing didn’t move at all, not even a rattle. I’d always thought it would be fun to be tied up, but this was not what I had in mind. In fact, this was the furthest thing from what I’d been thinking. Bracing my foot on the wall, I pulled on the chains again, with more force this time. The thick leather cuffs around my wrists groaned in protest, but the stupid rail didn’t shift. It was completely unmoveable. I stared at the locks on my wrist, and they were unique. I’d never seen anything like them.

Changing positions, I tried again, but this time let my arms trail behind me as I pulled until my wrists and shoulders screamed from the leather rubbing at an awkward angle. There was zero give even when I folded my thumbs in and tried to pop them out of the sockets to gain more space, but they wouldn’t budge either.
