His body brushed against mine, and even with the heavy material of the kilts in the way, I could feel that he was as hard as I was. Our cocks rubbed against each other, and I shuddered in his hold.

“Ta be yours means dat street runs both ways,” I growled as Rook broke the kiss. “Naw more fuckin’ around fir ya either.”

His lips brushed my throat, and his teeth sunk into my neck. He began to suck, marking me as his. Ten minutes ago, I would’ve told him to fuck off, but every cell in my body screamed with pleasure.

Gripping his messy hair, I pulled him closer and groaned as his tongue swirled along my skin. There wasn’t a single part of me that didn’t feel that this was where I was always meant to be. Connection or not, this man was my match.

Groaning, I slid my palms down his chest and around his waist until I found his ass. I gripped it hard and pulled him into me until there was nowhere left to go. With the feel of his cock pressing against me, a shudder rippled through me as I pictured taking him down my throat.

“Oh fuck,” I cursed and tilted my head, giving Rook more space as he broke the seal on my neck. His tongue traced a wet line up to my ear.

“Does it look like I want anyone else?” Rook said, sending shivers racing through my body.

“I dinnie mean now…Oh, fuck it.”

I growled and pushed Rook back, then pulled him around, so he was the one with his back against the wall. Our eyes locked, and my world shifted. I sucked in a shuddering breath.

“I’m gonna fuck you so hard that ya won’t be walkin’ straight for a week,” I said with a smirk.

“Bring it,” Rook said, giving me the same look. “But whatever you do to me, I’ll do to you twice as hard and twice as long.”

His eyes glimmered with the challenge, and his hand wrapped around the back of my neck, holding me firm.

“Who I am might scare you.” Rook gripped my lower lip between his teeth and bit down hard enough that the pain shot down my spine and made me groan.

“I crave to make you scream,” he said, releasing my lip. “I want to make you bleed.” He gripped my hair, his fingers digging into my scalp, and I knew what he would say before he said it. “Under all this, I’m a sadistic fuck, and no one has been able to take me yet. Will you?”

It felt like Rook was consuming me as he devoured my mouth, and I matched his intensity. We broke apart, gasping, both of us sizing up the other.

“Please tell me dat be a promise and no just ya talkin’ tough,” I said.

Before he could answer, I became the aggressor, attacking his mouth and exploring every inch with my tongue. I was met with the same aggression, the desire building at a rate that threatened to incinerate us. The hottest day in the desert couldn’t compete with the heat burning in my body.

Rook groaned as his hands ran down my back. Sparks ignited beneath my skin, making my muscles flex everywhere he touched. It was too much, and yet, I couldn’t get enough. Breaking the kiss to catch my breath, I leaned my forehead against his.

“I need to get ya back ta Injebreck. This is no’ da place I wanna do this, and there be danger outside of da walls.”

“Danger?” Rook asked.

And as if he’d conjured them, the door to the pub burst open with a bang. I felt them as soon as they stepped inside, and I spun and threw up a barrier to protect us. It was not a moment too soon, as arrows meant for our hearts bounced off the shields and landed on the floor.

“Who the fuck are they?” Rook asked as the room slowly filled with Hunters.

“Witch Hunters. Those dat know about da Factions and dinnie like us very much. How do ya no know about ‘em?” Rook’s mouth opened and closed a few times, and I shook my head. “It din’t matter right now. Do ya know how ta fight?”

“With some spells and my knife.”

“It’ll have ta do.”

I shivered as I released the concealment spell around my body. Rook whistled low as the leather armour, sword at my hip, axe on my back, and knives strapped across my chest were revealed. I never left the castle without them on me.

“I didn’t think I could be any more turned on, but holy fuck. I might bust a nut just looking at you.”

I glanced at Rook from the corner of my eye and found him gawking at me. I smirked. “Stay here and kill any that make it past me. Oh, and din’t be lettin’ dem touch ya wit their arrows or knives. They’re laced with poison.”

The group fanned out across the pub and slowly started to advance.

“You’re going to fight them? Rhys, there are like ten of them. Why don’t you just burn them up or something?”
