“Fucking Hales,” we said together.

Skye rolled her eyes. “Are you going to let me in, or do I go sleep in the car?”

That wasn’t a half-bad idea except for the fact that if she got injured or froze to death, I’d never forgive myself.

Stepping back out of the way, I let her come inside, and as if the guys had never seen a girl before, all eyes turned in our direction. The room fell silent, the game on the massive screen long forgotten, and my jealousy did a swan dive off the top of a building rapidly gaining momentum.

“Hi,” Skye finally said and waved at the group. The shy smile she gave them only enhanced my anger.

I slammed the door, and Skye jumped.

“Well fuck me, is that you, Skye,” Tyler asked as he smiled, getting up from the couch.

“Hey Ty,” Skye said, and I almost punched my best friend as he picked Skye up and swung her around in a hug.

“You are a sight. Damn, you’ve only gotten prettier.” Yup, I was going to kill him. “I didn’t know you and Cal were back together.”

“We’re not,” we said in unison once more.

“Yikes, that was frosty,” Zach said. “Good to see you again, Skye.”

“Hey there, Zach. Conner, Noah.” She hesitated, her back going rigid before she said Alex. The look he gave her sent the jealousy to the stratosphere, and my fist tightened. Skye gave each a small smile. None of them held back on the sexual once-over, and my sisters’ suggestion of a gangbang flashed through my mind and made me see red. “I’m sorry, I don’t know the rest of you.”

Cale wandered over and sucked on his lip like he already imagined her bent over the couch. My fingers itched to grab her and pull her into my side or punch Cale in the face. Both were equally appealing.

“I’m Cale, and this is my brother Austin.”

“Yo!” Austin answered, holding his hand up.

“I’m Nathan.”

“Aaron.”

“J.T.”

“Nice to meet all of you. Sorry to barge in on your weekend. I wasn’t expecting you all to be here,” she said.

“Trust me, we don’t mind, you’re far hotter than he his,” Cale said, nodding in my direction and that was all I could take of that bullshit.

Grabbing Skye’s arm, I headed for the kitchen. “Cal,” she yelped as I pulled her behind me.

“What are you doing?” Skye jerked her arm away once we were out of view. “What is your problem?” Her voice was low but harsh as she glared at me.

“My problem is the same as it has always been with you. What the hell was that out there?” I pointed to the living room.

“Being polite.” She crossed her arms. “And why do you care anyway? You broke up with me, remember?”

“Yeah, with good reason,” I snarled back, even though she didn’t know the real reason. I had told everyone I was leaving and wanted to date other people at my new school, and they all believed me, including Skye. The reality was too embarrassing to tell anyone—Callum Reeves had been cheated on by the girl he planned to marry.

“Yes, I’m sure that getting laid by a different girl every night was very important, but it doesn’t explain why you’re acting like a jerk now. I didn’t know you would be here, or believe me, I wouldn’t have shown up.”

My jaw cracked as I ground my teeth together. “Is that so?”

“Yeah, it is,” she huffed.

I wasn’t sure what came over me, but one second, I was standing there talking to Skye, and the next, I was kissing her like my life depended on the taste of her lips. She yelped with surprise, but her eyes fluttered closed, and God help me, I still wanted her. That pissed me the fuck off even more. Breaking off the kiss, I marched to the door.

“All the rooms are taken, so you’re on the couch,” I said before rejoining the guys. I tried to wipe the kiss from my mind, but I was fucked. I was going to kill Hales for doing this to me.
