We kiss softly, our lips barely touching, before Cyrus walks out of the kitchen, with stiff, measured strides. I stare after him, fearing that all along, those who have treated Cy saw only what they wanted to see. What’s easy. They saw a rockstar partying too hard and crashing out. That’s the easy explanation. They fit him into a box and missed the man under the assumptions.
That’s over now. Cy won’t fight this alone.

“You feel like fire in my veins, and I don’t want to be saved from the burn.” - Cyrus
CYRUS
Haven is fierce and determined. When she sets her mind to something, nothing and no one stands in her way. But to see it in action up close and personal…to have her advocating for me…there are no words. She is simply out of my league and always has been.
“I’m happy that you and Anita are divorcing, truly I am. But I already told you that I don’t want to talk about this with you right now. We will speak in person,” Haven says, as we deboard the jet and head for the awaiting car.
Auguste has always been efficient, making sure all needs are met. But Haven isn’t giving an inch. There will be no apologizing over the phone. I fear for the man’s safety when they get in the same room.
“No. Do not make any tour date announcements until Cy has answers. As of this moment, all dates are canceled until further notice. I don’t care if you’re losing money. That’s not my problem. Cy’s health is my only concern.”
Haven’s face is all hard lines and fire burning brighter than her red hair. She is a tornado whipping everything out of her way, and to hell with the consequences. I’ve always envied her passion.
We slip into the limo, and I give the driver the hospital address before putting up the divider.
“Yes, we’re in the car. And, Dad…keep Anita away from us.” I hear him laugh, and Haven rolls her eyes. “Well, do your best. The last thing we need is her showing up and screaming that I’m a kidnapper. Yes, I’ll keep you updated. Bye.”
She hangs up the phone and makes the most adorable sound. I think it’s supposed to be a frustrated growl, but it only turns me on. I glance out the window and wonder if I can squeeze in a quickie before we arrive.
Haven meets my gaze, and her eyes go wide.
“No.”
“What? I didn’t say anything.”
“You don’t have to. You get this look on your face when you’re thinking about sex.”
A chuckle rumbles from my chest.
“You must be used to seeing it then. That’s all I think about when you’re around.”
Her cheeks turn pink, and I love how she is trying hard not to wiggle. Haven clears her throat.
“Yes, now that you mention it.”
She doesn’t jerk away when I grab her hand and place it on my growing bulge. I don’t let go of her either.
“How long is the drive?”
My voice is husky with the need she creates within me.
“Twenty-five minutes, thirty at the very most,” Haven answers, but her eyes are on her hand.
I don’t think she even realizes when she licks her lower lip.
“That’s plenty of time. Do you want me to come down your throat or in your tight, hot pussy?”
“Cy…”
Haven tugs on her arm but doesn’t really try to move her hand away. She looks at the dark glass, the only thing separating us from the driver. I don’t give a fuck about that. I’d fuck her on stage in front of the world if she let me. But somehow, I doubt Haven will ever allow that to happen.
