“Well son, I had to meet the woman that seems to have you very smitten that her brains haven’t been blown outweighing the information I coughed up.” She made her way up to me filling my nose up with her sweet-smelling fragrance. Even after her insult, she held her hand out for me to shake and gave me a look that dared me to decline. She shook my hair real briefly as if I was contagious and continued to direct her attention to Ream. “I’m already in the doghouse with your father, I’m pretty sure those guards of mine can’t wait to inform him on my whereabouts for the night. I’ll have you know I’ll be leaving now, just needed to make my presence felt. Nice meeting you Reaper, since I was expecting you to be dead on arrival. I’m sure I will be seeing you again under better circumstances.” Turning away she gave us her curvy backside and waited for her guards to open the door. When she left out, we remained silent. Now my mind started to wander on why was Ream really here.

“You remind me a lot of my mother. Y’all personalities match a little, only difference is, I think you could be tamed better than how my father has her.” Pulling out a blunt, he sparked it and then opened the envelope. “This next mission will be quick and easy. I have everything you need to make things go as planned.” He took a bunch of pictures out of the folder and held them in his hands. “You will be killing Debo and Solo will take out the rest of the crew.” He handed me over the pictures and remained quiet. The first picture had a tall guy that looked to be about six foot two with brown skin. I couldn’t see his facial features because a ski mask covered his face.

I went to the next picture and had to keep my composure together as my stomach fell into my ass. “Matthew what are you doing?” I whispered as I looked at the picture gripping it tighter than before. I flipped through the other set of pictures and stopped when I got to a picture of Matthew and Kayori at a basketball game for Mi’air and Ki’air. I picked my gun up and pointed it directly toward Ream’s handsome face. Hearing the safety click off a gun behind me, I knew it was Solo.

“I won’t kill him.” I gritted with a glare covering my face.

“You won’t kill Debo?” he asked with his brows raised high, his eyes held amusement as I gripped my gun tighter.

“Drop the gun, or I’ll blow your fuckin brains out bitch.” Solo growled from behind me.

“Let her keep it locked and loaded Solo. Reaper, flip to the next picture.” He smiled. I remained frozen with my attention glued to him. I didn’t know what the fuck my brother Matthew was into, it had me blown, but I planned on dying protecting my little brother. I used my free hand as I let the other pictures fall to the floor. The last photo was of my father and Kayori caught off guard standing in the front yard. I swallowed whatever spit I had left in my mouth and slowly lowered my gun.

“I can’t kill my brother Ream, so kill me.” That was all I could say, so far me and my siblings were reckless as fuck and had a lot of fuck shit going on.

Chapter Twenty-One

REAM

“You can’t fuckin’ pop up when I’m handling business no more!” I raised my voice for the first time ever as I stared my mom in the eyes. That shit she pulled back at Mattea’s house had me beyond pissed and if she thought she could snoop around in my shit, she had shit fucked up.

“Watch your fucking tone, Christian!” She yelled back at me while slamming her laptop shut.

“Watch your conduct Ma, this is my shit! I run it how I see fit. What the fuck was you trying to prove popping up at Reaper’s house uninvited?” I hit my chest and started to pace in front of her.

“It was once my shit, and if I want to pop in and correct your mistakes, I will do as I see fit.” She shrugged and tittered like she thought shit was funny. I stopped pacing and unbuttoned my suit jacket and took a seat across from her.

“Is that what this is about? Do you want your shit back? I can give it back with no problem and take all my men and connections with me. I’ll give you your shit back exactly how I got it.” I smiled back at her to fuck with her high-ass ego. Deep down my mother knew that I expanded the blue diamond dynasty in ways my father and her could never imagine. When I took over after it was passed down to me from Cease and Khaos, they were doing the same typical things. Boring meetings every other month with the heads of different states just to have an excuse to travel. I made the shit more upbeat and gave it a facelift and had our shit buzzing. If I was to walk away, I was going to rebrand and take every connection I put into it.

“Don’t be fuckin’ stupid Christian. You should be thanking me instead of riding my back. I helped you solve something that would have taken you months to figure out. Your nose so far up that gray-eyed bitch you became blinded! I don’t know why you didn’t kill her. I bet Solace is still breathing as well, had it been one of my associates they’d be tied the fuck up in a basement right now!”

“What the fuck is all this yelling I’m hearing?” My father walked in with a serious look on his face making my mom clamp her lips shut.

“Nothing dad, I was just in here asking your wife if she wanted the blue diamond dynasty back since she has such a strong interest in it.” I smiled.

“All I’m saying is you need to clean up all those leaks.” She muttered, staring up at my father like she got caught up.

“Baby, go get in the bed; Christian I’ll talk to your mom. When will you be back over to sit with pops?” I instantly felt like shit for going back and forth with my mom. Here I stood arguing with my her when I didn’t look too deep into why she was starting to act out again. She stood up with sadness laced in her eyes, before she walked past me, I reached out and gave her a tight hug and kiss on the forehead. She probably was trying to keep her mind occupied from the reality of losing her father. Pops and moms had a tight bond, she was a true daddy’s girl and without him around she would be lost.

“Love you ma.”

“Love you too, son.” She smiled weakly and walked out of the room.

“I’ll be back through here later this week after I take care of some shit.” I turned to my dad who nodded his head and pulled me in for a quick embrace. My father never asked any questions when it came to my business because he never wanted this life for me.

“Be safe out there Christian, always stay ten steps ahead of any threat. The only way I will come out of retirement is if a piece of hair on that hard head of yours is touched. You’re my only son, I expect you to make it back to me always in one piece.” He walked out of the room to go tend to my mom. I hated that my family was going through so much sadness, each day that passed by the fear of losing my grandfather was on my mind. I went up to the second floor to go check on him and stayed by the door as I watched my little sister Christina lay beside him with her arm over his stomach. They both slept peacefully. Catching the lone teardrop that fell down my left cheek, I turned to walk away.

So much was weighing heavy on my mind. In a couple of days Solace, a nigga I looked at like a brother would be dead by the hands of me. This was personal, I made the table for niggas to eat at and he still wasn’t satisfied. I always expected the worse out of people, but not like this. How could I look my god-kids in the eyes after killing their dad? It would be a big loss for me because I really did love my god-kids. Killing their father would put me at a disadvantage with them. I would always make sure they were straight no matter what, but the dynamics of the relationship would change tremendously. I couldn’t spare Solace because he had no reason for deception.

He broke the fuckin’ code and I could never be on some soft shit when it came to the next niggas disloyalty. I gave everybody a fair chance at winning and I wasn’t a selfish nigga when it came to making this money. I already had lots of money, anything added was a bonus. There was no excuse that he could possibly give to make my mind alter on killing him. The only person I was trying to give a small chance to was Reaper. I expected her to get her family on the right accord. If she didn’t then things would turn out ugly.
