Pleasure tightened her sex. She needed him to put an end to this strange, exquisite torture. Of its own volition, her body rocked against his hand. She had never experienced anything like this. Ewan nibbled on the spot where neck met shoulder. Kyla wasn’t certain she could stand the pressure building inside her. But when he pressed moist kisses along her collarbone, then her chest, she couldn’t think straight. Before she realized his intent, he yanked her bodice down and his warm mouth closed over a nipple. She gasped when a thrill of pleasure raced from her nipple to the spot he massaged.

Pleasure erupted between her legs and she fisted her hand in his hair. He grunted, then dragged her closer. He yanked up his kilt and through the haze of pleasure, she started when his thick length fitted to her opening.

“Ewan.” His name came out a bare whisper.

“I know, love.”

He thrust inside her to the hilt. She stiffened at the pinch of pain.

He froze and cursed.

Several heart beats passed, then he said, “Kyla, are you a virgin?”

“Nae.”

“I beg to differ,” he said. “That was surely a maidenhead that my cock rammed into.”

“Aye,” she replied. “So now I am no longer a virgin.”

“Did I hurt you?”

“Only for an instant,” she said. “Everything else has been quite pleasant.”

“Why did you not tell me?” he demanded.

“Had I known…”

“Does this mean I do no’ please you?”

“You please me too damn much,” he growled.

She wasn’t sure she believed him. “Are we through, then?”

“Only if I want my bollocks to fall off. Hold onto me.”

She wrapped her arms around his neck. He pulled back, then thrust again, this time slowly. The way he filled her felt oddly nice. He pulled back again and thrust, then again and again. He moved faster. She felt an unexpected tickle where their bodies joined. He hugged her tight. Kyla allowed her forehead to rest on his shoulder.

“Christ Almighty,” he gritted out, then stiffened.

Ewan drove into her half a dozen more times, slowly. Then stilled. His chest pressed against hers. Their hearts beat wildly and only gradually slowed.

He pressed a kiss to her head, then withdrew from her slowly. She pushed her skirt down, but he didn’t move so that she could get down off the table.

“Are you here to meet your father or Mallatratt?” he asked.

Kyla yanked her head up. In the dark, she couldn’t read his face, but she could feel his stare bore into her. “What do you mean?”

“That is why you came.”

It wasn’t a question.

“Of course, that is why she is here.”

Kyla gasped upon recognizing that male voice.

Had he been there the whole time she and Ewan had…
