Nic turned her toward the alpha in question. Studying him, she found his dark gaze deeper than usual, as if she could melt right in and lose herself.

That was the only excuse she had for how fast she nodded. How quickly she squirmed in Nic’s lap for him to let her find her own pleasure.

“You too?” she asked on a breath, tilting her head up to see Nic.

Amber eyes glowed down at her just before Nic let his head fall back. “I knew you were gonna ask that.” When he lifted his head, some locks of his hair fell in his face, and Wendy couldn’t help but lift a hand to brush them away. “Of course me too, Mouse. Of course.”

“Sounds like there’s a whole lot of decision making about this alpha without asking the alpha,” Griffith mused.

“You said you were here for a reason,” Nic taunted. “Prove it.”

The alpha’s scent flared, and Wendy took it in, let it move through her as the air in the tent thickened, surrounding her in his thick honeyed cornbread.

Her breath caught in her throat as Grif leaned up, moved between Nic’s thighs to crowd her between them.

Grif leaned closer, she still couldn’t breathe, and—

He leaned right above her. Grif’s chest filled her vision, and they were too close for her to tilt her head up to watch them, but she heard their lips brush. Heard the click of someone’s dry throat as they swallowed, the suctions of their lips. Nic was holding her still in his lap when all she wanted to do was be in the middle of them.

The talk must have gone well if they were comfortable enough to make out above her, to have her between them.

With Grif’s chest only millimeters from her face, she couldn’t deny the idea that speared her thoughts.

Grif was shirtless, all thick muscle with a residual tan from working outside in the summer.

They thought they could tease her with no consequences, huh? A devilish smile curled her lips, and she leaned forward, parting her lips and chomping down on Grif’s nipple.

“Ow!” He jerked and pulled away from her, rubbing the offended nub with his right hand.

Wendy snickered at his expression, offended, shocked, bewildered, unable to bottle the giggles that slipped out.

At least until Griffith arched a single brow at her and planted his palms on either side of Nic’s thighs, which she was still trapped between.

Her giggles died on a gasp as Grif closed the distance between them, leaned in close enough—just before her vision began to cross from trying to keep him in her sights.

Nic was tense behind her, as she tried to lean farther back, but his solid form kept her from going anywhere.

The alpha before her moved achingly slow as he dissolved the space between them. Wendy let her eyes drift closed as his breath brushed across her lips. She parted them to take in a breath, accidentally brushing them across the alpha’s in the process.

Was he waiting on her?

Wendy gave it a shot, shifted her head just a tiny bit forward, and slotted her lips against Griffith’s.

It was soft, barely a kiss, but the moment their mouths brushed, she lit up inside. An omega recognizing the alpha before her, recognizing what he brought to the table, to the tent. Relief from her heat.

Her heat, which, until that moment had been burning rather calmly, flared to life in the form of an inferno. Wendy cried out at the sudden need that lit her entire body, and Griffith pressed forward, kissed her like an alpha was supposed to. He was still soft, still gentle, but his lips moved against hers with purpose, with warmth and a promise to make her feel good.

Through the haze, she felt Nic’s fingers tighten against her hips, slide back over her thighs to hold her open again.

Her breaths turned to pants as Grif lifted his hands, framed her face, and tucked his fingers in her hair to hold it out of the way. He tilted her up for better access, pulling her up and jarring her against Nic’s sinful touch.

Wendy moaned into the kiss, and Griffith pulled back, studying her with shrewd, dark eyes.

“I’ll be gentle, promise,” Griffith said, voice soft.

Wendy snapped her teeth at him, inches from his nose. “You haven’t been gentle with me from the beginning. Why start now?”

Nic leaned his head into the back of her neck, breath hot against her spine as his fingers tightened around her thighs. “Grif, go get a bite guard,” he said, and Wendy was taken aback by the commanding tone in his voice. But it worked, because Grif left their side before the beta had finished speaking.
