Arena jerked at the sound of the infected hitting the window and turned her head, breaking our kiss. Breathing heavily, I set my forehead on hers.
“You’re safe. It can’t get in,” I said, gently teasing that special place inside of her.
She clenched around my finger and made a sweet sound. However, she did not welcome another kiss. I pulled back enough to look at her flushed face.
“It’s watching us,” she said.
I glanced at it, but it did not have the clear eyes of an older infected.
Moving my finger inside of her, I said, “It’s not smart enough to watch. It only followed the sound of your pleasure. I will make sure you are quieter this time.”
Her lips parted when I pressed that place again. But her hold in my hair tightened, and she pulled firmly.
“Sex isn’t a spectator sport for the living or the dead. I’m no longer willing.”
I sighed, glad she had not noticed the infected sooner, and withdrew my slick finger.
“Stay here. I will be back quickly.” I stood and savored her taste on my way out the front door.
The infected turned toward me as I stepped outside. Its cloudy gaze shifted from me to the opening behind me. Intelligence or a coincidence? Grabbing its head, I dragged it away from the window before cutting off its warning call.
I looked down at myself, checking for any blood. It was a clean removal.
Ready to watch Arena find her pleasure again, I went back inside. However, she was standing next to the bed. Fully dressed.
“I don’t feel safe anymore,” she said quickly.
Annoyed with the infected and myself, I nodded.
“Would you feel safer if I placed a fence around the house? I saw one by the school. It would be easy to move.”
“You want to leave? Now? I’d rather you didn’t. I feel safer when you’re with me.”
An ache of contentment filled my chest. She felt safe? With me?
“I will stay,” I said, moving closer to her.
She glanced at my throbbing cock, and doubt flickered in her gaze.
“Are you hungry? We should make dinner before we lose light,” she said quickly.
I was hungry, but not for food. However, I already knew that females often asked a male if they were hungry to indicate that they wanted to be fed.
“Yes. We should make dinner.”
I followed her into the kitchen and watched her sort through the cans I had brought back from across the street.
“What do you like to eat?” she asked.
“Any meat is fine. I like the cans that have the animals on them.”
She glanced at me. “Animals?”
“Yes. Dogs and cats. But the cans don’t contain dog and cat meat,” I said quickly. “I know those are pets and do not eat them. The cans mostly have fish and chicken and beef.”
She held my gaze for several long seconds.
