“For what?” I ask.
“For everything. For today. For tonight. For being you.”
I smile into her neck. “I am quite the catch, aren’t I?” She laughs and playfully hits my arm.
“But really. You’ve been nothing but amazing from the moment I met you, and I just wanted to say thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me, baby. I wish I could give you more.” She doesn’t respond. I hold her a little tighter, and she put her hands on mine.
I listen to her breathing grow slower as she drifts off. I eventually fall asleep, too, with our legs intertwined beneath the sheets.
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
HAZEL
I can see the sunlight through my eyelids, but I’m having a hard time prying them open. I feel extra tired this morning. It might have to do with the massive orgasm that rocked my body last night.
Everything with Wes is explosive. Even when he just touches my hand, I feel like fireworks are being lit in my body. I don’t know what it is about this man, but it’s like nothing else I’ve ever experienced.
I finally crack my eyes open and gently roll over to face Wes. He isn’t awake yet, so I have time to just look at him. He looks so peaceful. His hair is a mess, but it’s always a mess. Now that I’ve seen what it looks like when he’s sleeping, I’m convinced he just runs his fingers through it a few times a day, and that’s his style.
His lips are just barely parted, letting out his slow breaths. I love how his lips feel on me. He knows when to give gentle kisses and when to give his all in full-blown passion. I love that he can do both.
His long eyelashes flutter open. His head immediately turns in my direction, almost as if he knew I was staring at him.
“Good morning,” he says, his voice still full of sleep.
“Morning,” I say, quickly realizing I haven’t brushed my teeth yet, so I probably have terrible morning breath. I don’t want to be around Wes with that, so I turn over to get out of bed.
“Oh, no, you don’t.” Wes wraps a muscular arm around me and pulls me back to his body. “There. That’s better.” He nestles his head in the crook of my neck, and I feel his eyelashes flutter shut again.
“Wes, I have morning breath. I don’t want to be gross for you,” I tell him. A low rumble comes from his chest as he laughs.
“You’re never gross, Hazel. I want you right here with me. I’m not ready to get up yet.”
“But Wes…”
“No buts. Just give me a few more minutes like this.” I can’t argue with him, so I relax into his hold. It’s nice being held like this. Jordan never cuddled me. I thought I was fine with it, but being here in Wes’s arms makes me think maybe I wasn’t fine. I like this feeling. I like that it feels like his big arms envelope me from the rest of the world.
I don’t know how long we lay like that, but it’s long enough for my bladder to get really angry at me.
“Wes?”
“Hmmm?”
“I really have to pee.” He laughs quietly into my ear, making it even harder for me to get out of bed
“Ok, fine.” He loosens up his grip, and I roll out of his arms.
I throw on my pajama shorts and rush across the hall to the bathroom. I do my business and quickly brush my teeth before going back to our room.
Wes is sitting up in bed with his bare chest completely visible. He has a body most people would envy. I keep wondering how I seem to have won the lottery of hot baby daddies. Who would have thought that little ol’ Hazel would procreate with the gorgeous specimen that is Wes Mitchell?
“You should take a picture. It’ll last longer.” He smirks at me, knowing I was checking him out.
“Oh, shut up.” I can’t deny I was admiring him, so I don’t even try. “Don’t let your ego get too big.”
“Ha, you’ve already bruised my ego with the number of times you’ve rejected me.”
