I smile and reach my hand out for the steaming mug made just the way I like it—more creamer

than coffee. “Thank you.” I take a sip and then set it down to finish packing my bag.

Ezra wraps his hand around my wrist and pulls me into him. Without warning, his mouth is on

mine. His tongue runs along my lips, begging for entrance. I part them for him, and he twirls my

tongue with his. I wrap my arms around his neck, closing any remaining space between us. I feel his

impressive erection up against my stomach, but he’s not moving. He’s not making a move to touch me

anywhere besides my hips, which he’s firmly grasping to keep me in place.

When we finally pull away from each other, we’re both out of breath.

After a moment, Ezra looks down at my bags. “Are you about ready? We can stop for breakfast on

the way back to Brunswick.”

“Yeah, that sounds good.” I still don’t know what to think about my growing feelings for Ezra.

This wasn’t supposed to happen when we started our arrangement a few weeks ago. But standing

here, looking at this gorgeous man in front of me, my heart skips a beat. Damn it.

I zip my bag up. “Ok, I’m all set.”

He nods. “Right, let me go get dressed.”

“Yeah, as much as I appreciate your bare chest, I’d rather other people not see what’s mine.” He

stops mid-movement, and I suck in a breath. That comment sounded jealous and possessive, and I

don’t get jealous or possessive. Ever.

I try to play it off by grabbing my phone and pretending to look at the zero text messages I have. I

see him smirk from the corner of my eye, but he doesn’t say anything. He just keeps going toward his

room.

A few minutes later, he’s back in shorts and a T-shirt. He’s fixed his hair that was all over the

place from sleeping and looks completely put together.

He grabs my bag and walks out to the hallway. He lowers his voice and says, “We have to say bye

to my parents before we leave, but we’ll make it quick.”

“Ok,” I say, following him down the stairs. He drops our bags by the door, and we head off to find

his parents.

They’re in the kitchen sitting at the breakfast nook with half-empty cups of coffee.

“Mom, Dad, we’re going to head out,” Ezra tells them. “Happy Birthday, Dad.”

His dad smiles, and I notice it’s the same smile Ezra has. It could light up an entire room.
