“I get to pick what we watch,” I tell him while Netflix is loading.
“What? Why do you get to pick? This is my house.”
“Oh, please. Are you going to stop me?” My gaze meets his, and neither one of us blinks.
“Maybe I was in the middle of a series,” he says.
I cock an eyebrow at him. “Were you?” I ask.
He hesitates, probably debating if he’s going to keep lying to me or not. He finally shakes his head
and says, “No, I’m not. Don’t make me watch something stupid, though.”
“Excuse me.” I put my hand over my heart, acting like he’s offended me with his words. “Nothing
I watch is stupid.”
“Yeah, right. I’ve seen you and Stella watching those Real Housewives of wherever-the-fuck

“How could you not like that? You have zero taste,” I scoff.
“I like you. What does that say about you?” I look over at him and see a stupid smirk cross his

be sweet and complimentary, and I hate that. I hate trying to impress someone. It feels like a waste of
time. This is me. Take it or leave it.
Ezra knows me. He knows I don’t care about any of that shit.
I pull up the show on Netflix, and I can practically hear Ezra roll his eyes. I slide my legs over his
to get more comfortable.
Ezra gets tired of hearing my stomach growl during the first episode, so he slips on some pants
and grabs us snacks from the kitchen. I didn’t eat before I got here because I was determined to get my
best friend back. But now that I’ve got him, and I’m thoroughly fucked, I need food.
Ezra obliges by bringing me a plethora of snacks. Some of them are way too healthy for my liking.
I will not be eating anything with oats listed in the ingredients, thank you very much.
After I finish my second Cosmic Brownie, I ask Ezra to point me in the direction of the bathroom
so I can get ready for bed. I slip on one of his T-shirts and run across the hall.
I always keep a spare toothbrush in my bag, so I brush my teeth and rinse my face before tip-
