I felt the soft brush of his breath against my lips.

My eyes kept dropping to his mouth. His sweet, luscious mouth was just about the most perfect bow I’d ever seen. His bottom lip was just a little too full, and it made me want to nibble on it. I could see the faint shadow of stubble beginning to show through in the late-afternoon light. I imagined he didn’t have to shave that often, but I’d always liked just a whisper of whiskers, and Drew seemed to have the perfect amount.

“It’s fine. I don’t mind at all.”

Drew raised a finger and traced it along the edge of my jaw. His fingertip lightly scratched against my skin, sending a shiver through me.

“Sweetheart…” I murmured. “Sweetheart, what are you doing?”

“I know I said earlier that I wasn’t sure what I liked, but there is one thing I know I do.”

“What’s that?”

“I like how I feel around you.”

His finger drifted from my jaw to the edge of my lips. I parted them slightly, and when his thumb brushed against them, I couldn’t resist running my tongue lightly across the pad of it.

Drew smiled, small and uncertain, but he didn’t pull away.

“Sweetheart, I very much want to kiss you, but I don’t want you to feel like I’m rushing you into anything,” I said quietly.

I’d never been one for playing games. I wasn’t good at them, and they annoyed me. It was so much easier to say what you wanted, and I had no doubt that I wanted Drew. But after everything he’d been through, I didn’t want to rush him, and I sure as hell didn’t mind waiting until he was ready.

“I very much want you to kiss me.”

That was all the permission I needed.

Although I leaned forward slightly, Drew met me halfway. Our mouths brushed against each other in quiet exploration, but it wasn’t enough. One taste of him, and I was already addicted.

With a groan, I settled my mouth over his and slipped my tongue inside. Drew’s needy sounds stiffened my cock like one of Pavlov’s dogs. My tongue mapped and explored every inch of his mouth while I slipped my fingers through his hair to anchor him to me. We both tasted and sipped, and I gave in to the urge to nibble on his pouty bottom lip.

Drew braced himself by splaying his fingers across my thighs. I couldn’t help but wish he’d place them a little higher.

I knew damn good and well kissing was all that would happen tonight, but there was no harm in dreaming about what more would feel like. And I knew the answer would be nothing short of damn good.

When my lungs couldn’t handle it anymore, I pulled back and smiled a little at his whimper.

“Sweetheart, you’re killing me.”

“I could absolutely say the same, but I can think of worse ways to go.”

“Same, but if I did go, then I wouldn’t get to kiss you again, and that would suck. So I think I’m gonna keep you alive,” I said with a waggle of my eyebrows.

Drew snorted.

Honest to God snorted.

His face turned bright red as he clasped his hands over his mouth, his eyes wide with horror.

I threw back my head and roared with laughter.

“Oh my God, I am so embarrassed. I am so sorry.”

“Don’t you dare apologize. It’s fucking adorable.”

“Snorting while laughing is not fucking adorable.”

“Speak for yourself. You can be wrong about that. I don’t mind. I’ll let you,” I said with a wink.
