I bite my lip, not hating the thought of that at all, and Rhys groans. “You’re gonna kill me.”

My lips tip up as I trail a finger down his slightly damp chest. “But what a way to go, right?”

Before he can respond, his phone dings. And then it dings again, and again, and several more times in rapid succession. Rhys groans, dragging a hand down his face. “My phone is constantly on Do Not Disturb. The only people that can get through are the guys, my parents, three of my siblings, and now you. I should check that.”

My mind gets caught on the three of his siblings part. How many siblings does this alpha have? I know Lawson and Lucky’s parents passed away, but I don’t know anything about Rhys or Wyatt’s families. I haven’t even tried to get to know them, and it makes me feel like the world’s worst omega and pack mate.

Suddenly Rhys barks out a laugh and turns his phone so I can see the text thread he’s pulled up. I can’t help but laugh too when I see the name of their chat.

It was, but she got sick after and then she wanted to see Posey. I left them sitting on a bench maybe two hours ago thinking I would meet her after her last class but she’s NOT HERE!

We’re not putting out an amber alert for Lainey. I can feel her and she’s perfectly fine. If I had to guess, I’d say she’s with Rhys at the shop or at home. Not sure what his schedule is like today.

Rhys finally gives in and starts typing, keeping the phone held aloft so I can see it all in real time. He exits out of the thread and starts a new one, and this name makes me huff.
