It felt good to have the man on the back foot.
“Morning. Thanks for a great night.” I gave him a final kiss and turned to leave the room.
That seemed to bring him out of his sex haze. “You’re leaving?”
I paused at the door and turned to look at him. “Yeah. Got to get back to help the family.”
“Will I see you again?”
I shrugged. “Not sure. More than likely because Dad is out of commission for a few weeks and Gabe’s wife just had a baby.” I tapped the doorframe. “See ya, big man.”
I ignored his “What the fuck?” that exploded from him as I walked down the short hallway to the kitchen.
Fin was waiting with our travel mugs filled with coffee. I loved my boy.
“Morning, Ma,” he said, handing me my mug. “Truck’s warmed up. Ready to go?”
“Thanks, son. Yeah, I’m ready.” I sipped my coffee, then sat down and tugged on my boots.
I opened the door and walked out into the early morning. I was just about to climb behind the wheel when a muscular arm circled my waist.
“Not so fast, darlin’. You think you can blow my mind, then leave?”
What the hell? We had an agreement.
I glanced at him over my shoulder. “I’m confused,” I admitted.
His arm loosened, allowing me to close the truck door to spare Fin his mother’s drama.
I turned and looked up at him. “We agreed this was a one-night thing. I told you I don’t do relationships.”
Glacier’s eyes slid over my face, searching for something. What, I didn’t know.
“Don’t want a relationship either, darlin’, but I would’ve liked to return the favour.” His icy blue eyes held mine as he ordered, “Make sure you’re on the next delivery. And you’ll be staying the night.”
My eyes widened in surprise at his demand. That was… unexpected. But I wasn’t about to say no to another night in this man’s bed. Maybe I’d sleep the whole night again.
I nodded. “Okay. I can do that. I’ll see you in three weeks.”
“Three weeks... fuck,” he muttered, like that was far too long.
Finally, he stepped away and opened the driver’s door for me. I climbed in and settled behind the wheel.
“Drive safe, you hear?”
“Always do.” I grinned down at him as he shut the door.
I put the truck in reverse and gave him a wave as I drove down the road. He stood in his driveway, chest bare, hands on his jean-clad hips, watching us leave.
Once we hit the highway, I forced myself to focus on the traffic. I glanced at Fin to see he was fast asleep. He’d been quiet this morning. I’d leave him be for now, knowing he’d come to me if he had any worries.
As for me, my body was humming in a way that was both pleasant and unexpected.
I wasn’t an idiot. Glacier was a biker with whores at his disposal. We hadn’t made any promises.
But that didn’t stop the anticipation thrumming through me at the thought of seeing him again in three weeks.
