To Us.

It’s well past our bedtime when we finally get up to put the plate of cookies and a glass of milk out for Santa. Gracie makes a special cup of caramel coffee for Krampus, just in case. Wink. Wink.

We ascend the stairs together, not bothering to put our clothes back on, and we hesitate at the threshold of our bedroom.

I take one look at Gracie and know without a doubt she wants what I do. No words are exchanged when we each take one of Wolf’s hands and welcome him into our bedroom. In the attached bathroom, Gracie gives Wolf a fresh toothbrush from the drawer, and we stand side by side at the vanity as we brush our teeth. Then, we take turns using the facilities, before taking the next step—inviting him in.

It should be scary.

It should give me pause.

But the smile on Gracie’s lips says it all.

She wants this as much as we do.

There is no weirdness when I slide into bed first, then comes Gracie. Once we’re both snuggled under our shared covers, Wolf pauses. But our beautiful woman, being who she is, dissolves any concerns when she turns toward me, offering Wolf her back. “Come to bed, handsome,” she purrs.

I hold my breath and wait for him to take the leap.

That final step.

The one we spoke about that day in town.

Blowing out a heavy breath, Wolf nods once as if making up his mind, and he crawls in behind Gracie.

Twisting her head to the side, she offers her lips to him, and he kisses her. It’s soft and sweet, and my heart swells seeing them together. When it’s my turn, I share the same with Wolf. His mouth is perfection, and his breath minty, as I slip in a little tongue before we rest for the night.

Gracie wraps his arm around her, and he becomes the big spoon as I cup the side of my wife’s face and stare deep into her soul. “I love you, babe. Thank you for being mine,” I whisper, stealing a simple goodnight kiss.

“I love you more,” she returns with a lopsided grin.

And then I fall.

Asleep.

Deeper in love.

And

Into our new life.

This is it.

Thirteen

It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas! It’s really, really here!

Throwing the blankets off my legs, I stretch both arms above my head and groan.

Peeking one eye open, then the next, my heart stops. I’m alone. Alone, alone. Jace and I have woken up together every Christmas morning since forever.

The subtle crooning of Nat King Cole rises up the stairs, and with him comes the scent of bacon. I tip my head back and inhale deeply. Is that French toast or pancakes? I’m not sure which, but it smells divine.

Alright. So, both men got up before me to cook. It’s hard to be upset about that.

On the way to the bathroom, I check the time. It’s just past nine. That means I have two hours before my sister arrives. Two hours to spend with my guys and come up with a reasonable explanation for why Wolf is here. Not one of those “he’s Jace’s friend” reasons, either. I have no intention of lying to Harmony. That’s my sister. It’s not like I have anything to hide or be embarrassed about. I have a husband, and we have a boyfriend. Sure, that’s not normal by society standards, but I don’t care about that. If you asked society, they’d also tell you fat women don’t marry fit men, yet here we are. Society can suck it.

Wanting to start the day fresh, I shower, apply lotion, and blow-dry my hair before adding the standard blush, gloss, and mascara. I don my cutest Christmasy pajamas—a two-piece pink silky set with Santa’s face all over them—before digging my old reindeer slippers out of the back of my closet and joining my guys.
