A deep, unexpected gravelly voice comes at me from behind, making me nearly drop the glass.

Clutching it to my chest, I spin around to see Logan, hands tucked casually in his pockets.

“I told you. I needed some air...”

Logan hums, a low, sexy sound that vibrates through my bones as he slowly starts stalking toward me.

“I think you need more than just air, Angel.”

A sense of déjà vu hits: Logan standing shirtless in this very spot, water dripping onto his chest, morning wood more than obvious. My breath catches as he closes the distance between us, plucks the glass from my hands and sets it down on the counter.

“Logan.” I press my palms flat against his chest. “We’re not the only ones here right now.”

“Night crew is asleep.” His voice is rough and soaked in whiskey, and it makes my thighs clench.

Palm pressing against my sternum, he walks me backward until I’m up against a wall.

“You like me watching you with Brex, don’t you?” His lips quirk. “Figured you’d mess with my head a little?”

I might hate his smug face right now, but I’d still sit on it.

“Why? Are you jealous?” I tilt my chin up in defense, refusing to back down even though my heart is rioting. “I mean, you said you don’t want to be with me, so—”

Suddenly, he’s all up in my face, green eyes blazing.

“That’s the problem, Angel.” His tone makes it sound like he’s in pain. “I do want to be with you.”

He twists away, raking a hand through his hair in frustration. “I can’t be fraternizing with someone I work with. It’s not ethical.”

“But is it actually against the rules?”

Shoulders tensing, he stares at the floor for a long, agonizing moment before hanging his head in defeat. Letting out a deep, ragged sigh, he turns to look at me. The war he’s been fighting against since the moment I walked back into his life blazes in his eyes.

“No,” he admits quietly. “It’s not.”

“Then what’s really stopping you?” I ask. Champagne buzzes in my veins, emboldening my courage to push buttons I know need to be pushed. “It’s because of what happened with your ex, isn’t it?”

Something akin to hurt flashes in his eyes before it’s gone and his gaze darkens, narrowing in on me.

Slowly, he moves into my space again, cupping my chin in the palm of his hand. “I walked in on my college girlfriend getting railed by some douchebag from my science class.”

Stunned, I suck in a breath. “Shit. I—”

“No.” His grip firms. “I don’t want to talk about the past right now.” Bending at the waist, he wraps his beefy arms around my thighs, tossing me over his shoulder in a fireman’s carry. “I want you naked.”

The door to Logan’s office bounces off the wall. Setting me down on the floor, he kicks the door closed and throws the lock, sealing us in together.

My breath comes out in harsh pants, betraying how turned on I am by his caveman antics.

Eyes dark with intent, he moves into me, backing me up until my ass hits the edge of his desk. “You’ve been driving me crazy all night.”

“That was kind of the point.”

A growl rumbles as his hands find my waist, fingers digging in.

“Brex set this whole thing up, didn’t he? Did this on purpose.” His voice is rough, accusatory.

I bite my lower lip. “Why does it matter?”
