“You wanna play pool?” he asked, leaning too close to my space again.
“No,” I answered quickly and scanned the crowd for Thorne.
“Aw, come on, hottie. Don’t be like that. Come have a drink. Maybe a dance.”
“No,” I said more sharply and spun to stare him down. “Go away now.”
“You don’t have to be such a bitch,” he snapped back.
“Leave me alone. Now.” I narrowed my eyes.
He ran a hand through his dark hair and scoffed. “Damn, girl. You need to loosen up. Maybe a good fuck would do the trick.”
My mouth fell open at the crude words, but before I could respond, I felt something touch the inside of my thigh. His green eyes met mine before I looked down to see his long stick lifting my skirt.
“This will settle you down.”
Rage reverberated inside my chest in place of the music, and with one swift move, I dislodged the stick from his hands, spun it with the skill I’d honed since childhood, and landed six blows to his head and body before swiping his legs out from under him. The small crowd around me laughed and cheered as I placed the tip of the stick against his forehead and pinned him to the ground.
“Don’t touch me. Ever.”
When I removed it, he had a dark green spot in the center of his head.
The group of men he’d been with laughed as they pointed at their downed friend, and not one of them offered him any help back to his feet.
“Damn, girl!” a dark-skinned woman next to me cheered. “I saw what he did! Hell to the yeah! Screw that douchebag!”
She held up her hand, and I remembered seeing people do it on the beach the other day, so I slapped my palm against hers.
“You are one badass bitch!” She laughed as she kicked the guy still lying on the floor before heading out to the dance floor. When I turned back around, Thorne stood smiling, holding my piña colada in his hand.
“I leave you alone for one minute.” He shook his head and glanced at the man still struggling to get up off the floor.
“I handled it.” I shrugged and took the drink from his hand.
“Damn straight you did, baby. And I don’t think I’ve ever been this turned on.”
“What about now?” I asked with an arched brow as I slid the cherry between my lips.
His mouth slackened as I finished pulling the stem out of my mouth.
“If you keep this up, we aren’t going to make it onto that dance floor.”
I took a long swig of my drink and slid my arm around his waist and whispered in his ear, “Take me dancing now, and I’ll do that thing with my tongue later.”
Thorne growled in my ear, “You’re killing me, woman,” then pulled me to the edge of the dance floor. “You gonna show me those dance moves or what?”
His seductive eyes encouraged me as he spun me out onto the dance floor. With one sharp pull, he yanked me against his chest and started moving with me to the music. The smell of alcohol and sweat flooded the air and only enhanced the sexually charged energy around us.
We moved together to the music, sweat beading on my skin as I danced with him, grinding our bodies together in a way that made me want to rip off his clothes and take him right here on this dance floor. He spun me around, pulling my back against his chest as he moved my body against him. His breath brushed across my ear as he took it between his teeth. It ignited the already burning inferno inside me.
When his lips brushed across my neck, I closed my eyes and pressed my head back into his shoulder. His arms tightened around my waist, and I could feel his rock-hard cock pressing into me.
But that wasn’t the only thing I wanted inside me.
“Bite me,” I whispered, barely able to believe I’d uttered the words.
“What?” he said as he slowed our movements.
