“You sound hungry. You sure you don’t want some?” I dangled a piece of meat in front of my lips before snapping it up in my mouth.
“I’d rather starve than eat an innocent creature.”
“He’s really good. Tender. Bursting with flavor.”
“John! Eew! Stop!” She tossed a rock at me.
I laughed and set down the tasty meat and grabbed the bunch of bananas I’d scaled up the tree earlier and grabbed. “Here. You can eat these. They aren’t ripe, so they won’t taste as good as our little friend here, but they’ll stop your stomach from grumbling.”
She caught the cluster of bananas I threw at her and peeled one open. A moan escaped her mouth when she slid the fruit between her lips. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit how unbelievably turned on I was by watching her handle the phallic fruit. Visions of her sliding her mouth down my shaft as she stared up at me invaded my mind... her blue eyes locked with mine as I held a handful of her blonde hair while she bobbed up and down on my cock. I knew I shouldn’t be having these thoughts about my contract, so I tried to force them from my mind. But the harder I tried to make them go away, the more they multiplied as I kept watching her eat the fruit. Soon I saw myself hovering over her naked body, our sweaty skin pressed together as I sank into the wetness between her legs. Again and again and again...
Stop thinking about her like that, damn it.
I shifted my weight to conceal the response to watching her eat.
After she’d tortured me by eating three bananas, and I pictured at least a dozen different sexual positions I wanted to put her in, I finished our little lizard friend, then I got up to take a piss in the bushes. After I’d finished, I checked the area to make sure it was safe and then directed her where she could go take care of her own business. She sheepishly slunk past me behind the tree.
“Did you have any toilet paper in that bag?” she called from behind the tree.
“Sorry, Sweetcheeks. I only keep survival gear in my ditch bag, and I sure as hell don’t need toilet paper to survive. I also forgot to pack nail polish, perfume, and scented lotion. I hope you can survive without them.”
I heard her mumbling under her breath before she emerged and gave me a sideways glare.
“We should get some rest now. We’ve got to get up at first light and start hiking. It’s gonna be a long-ass day getting out of here.”
“Where are we going?”
“The cartel will be expecting us to go down the mountain to the east since that’s the direction we were traveling. It would make the most sense. I’d put money that they’ll be patrolling the villages there much harder than they’ll be patrolling the villages back to the west. There’s a little town about a twelve-hour walk from here. After we get there tomorrow, I can figure out transportation to get us to Bogotá.”
“A twelve-hour walk?”
“Ten if we hustle.”
She blew out a breath. “I’d better get some sleep then. I haven’t walked even a mile in years.”
“I hope your shoes are comfortable.”
She glanced at her little pink sandals. “They’re not.”
“Sucks to be you.” I smiled. “Lay down on the bed of leaves I made you. Should be pretty comfortable for the night.”
She moved toward them and then paused before she sat down. “Where are you going to sleep?”
“I’ll be fine right here. This rock will make a fine pillow. You can use the ditch bag as yours.”
“I feel bad. Are you sure you don’t want the leaf bed?”
“I’ve slept in much worse places than this. I’ll be fine.”
“Okay.”
She lowered herself onto the leaves and rested her head on my black canvas bag. “Goodnight, John. Thanks again for saving me.”
“You can thank me with that fifty grand when we get to Bogotá,” I teased.
Her face dropped for a millisecond before she smiled. “You got it.”
Yep. There it was again. The flash of panic on her face when I brought up the money. If it weren’t for the fact that the cartel certainly thought she was worth millions, I’d be questioning if she really had the dough. But if it wasn’t that she didn’t have the money, she was hiding something. Now I needed to figure it out while I managed to keep us alive.
