“Get down,” he commanded in a whisper.

His strong hand pushed into my chest and flattened me onto my back. He rolled on top of me, covering me with his body as he assumed a prone position and aimed his gun... from between my spread legs.

My life was in danger, and yet all my brain could focus on was the sensation of his body against mine... of his cock pressed up against my ugly granny panties. My body throbbed with desire as I forced myself to remain still and not wrap my arms around his broad back and pull him down into me like some sex-crazed lunatic.

Marcus shifted as he swiveled his gun toward the moving sound. It caused his cock to brush up against me once more.

Sweet baby Jesus.

Never in my life had I been more titillated... more turned on. Between the fear of death breathing just down our necks, and the raw, powerful man pressed between my spread legs, I thought I may come undone right then and there.

“Fuck. Just a monkey,” Marcus said before he rolled off me and flopped onto his back at my side.

I panted next to him, my heart hammering more from the excitement of having him between my legs than from the danger lurking just through the trees.

“Sorry about that. I know that was a little personal, but I needed to shield you with my body while I surveyed the situation. No other way, really.”

“It’s... I, uh...” I stopped myself from saying I, uh, really wanted you to take your pants off and screw me on the jungle floor, and instead finished with a soft, “I didn’t mind.”

My eyelashes fluttered with the desire I couldn’t conceal. When his amber irises collided with mine, I saw a flicker of passion ignite inside them for just a moment. Was it possible Marcus was as turned on by the moment as me?

When his gaze flicked to my lips, they parted softly. I started leaning over, my lips taking on a life of their own as they pulled me toward him. Marcus remained still, his gaze fixated on mine as his lips parted in response.

A loud crack in the woods caused me to jump and stop my pursuit of the kiss I so desperately wanted. Marcus spun around onto his stomach and leveled his gun back to his eye.

“They’re over there. I can see them,” he whispered. “We can make a run for it now if we’re quiet.” He rolled up to standing then offered me his hand. “We need to move. Come on.”

Still stunned and disoriented from the mixture of adrenaline and oxytocin pumping through me, I reached up and staggered as he pulled me to my feet. He lifted a finger to his lips, then started pulling me behind him. It shouldn’t have been what I was thinking about when I was running for my life, but I couldn’t help but be taken aback by the feeling of his hand on mine. The way my skin heated from his touch. Like an energy pulse shot through me the moment our skin touched.

Not now, Irene! Stop fantasizing about Marcus and run for your damn life, you hornball!

I tried to keep my dress closed while we rushed through the trees, but it was impossible to do so. I gave up my attempts at modesty and let my dress fly open. Marcus took us darting this way and that through the jungle and finally slid to a stop after about five minutes of running.

I panted for breath, gasping for air while he stood quietly listening.

“What... what are we doing?” I huffed.

“Shh.” He lifted his finger to his lips again.

I did my best to quiet my breathing and tried to listen to what he heard.

“I don’t hear them,” he said. “That doesn’t mean they aren’t still looking, but they aren’t too close.”

“So, we’re safe?” I asked hopefully.

“Uh, no. We are far from safe.”

“How did they find us?”

He shook his head. “Dunno. Best guess is they are spread out and sending crews to all the surrounding towns. Someone from back there probably took a bribe to tell them which way we went. Fuck. Why are they still hunting you? You aren’t worth millions.”

“I have no idea.”

Marcus inhaled a deep breath, then shook his head. “Doesn’t matter. All that matters is getting safely out of this jungle and getting you to Bogotá. I hear a river not far from here. We need to stay off the roads, but we can follow the river to another town. It’s our best option.”

“Whatever you think is best,” I said. “I’ll go where you go. Let me just try to figure out how to fix my dress first. I don’t want to keep flashing all the animals in the jungle... and you.”

Marcus rolled his eyes. “Christ, Irene. Nobody cares about your granny panties.”
