I peeked back, lifting my lip in a smirk. “Oh, you eye-fucked me alright. Don’t think I didn’t notice. Incredibly Handsome Man. That’s my call now.”
Piper narrowed her eyes and rose on her toes, her lips moving toward mine. My breath hitched in my chest as they got closer and closer.
Just before they pressed into mine, she stopped and tipped her head. Her breath ghosted my lips as she whispered, “I didn’t eye-fuck you, Pretty Boy, and if I ever do, not that I will, you’ll know it.”
My overly excited dick practically wept when her lips drifted from mine.
This woman.
There was a reason she could seduce her way into the most secure buildings and institutions on the planet. No one could resist her. Not presidents. Not the head of cartels or mafias. Not even sheiks and royalty. Hell, gay men and eunuchs probably couldn’t resist her either. And now, being this close to her and feeling the power of her sultry skills turned on me confirmed the fact that I would do anything, go anywhere, and even die if she told me to... just like they had.
Trying not to drop to my knees and beg her for a taste of those lips I’d dreamed about, I gave her a half-smile. “Well, you can call me Pretty Boy all you want, Madam Piper, but you eye-fucked me. You know it, and I know it. Now, cut this thing out of me.”
Her eyebrow rose with her smirk, and a glint of light hit the knife she held up. “Oh, you want me to make this hurt is what you’re saying, huh, Pretty Boy?”
“You can do whatever you want to me, Madam Piper. I’m all yours.”
If I didn’t know better, I’d swear her eyes ignited with the same passion that was in mine. But I didn’t get a chance to examine them more because she shoved my face against the wall and pressed her knife to the back of my neck.
“Try not to scream.”
Searing pain tore through my skin as she sliced into my neck. Refusing to let her win and make me cry out, I ground my teeth together and held my breath until I felt the knife retreat. A few seconds later, her fingers slid into the wound, and I nearly dropped to the floor.
“Almost got it,” she said through gritted teeth. “Just a little more... there. Done.”
I exhaled a breath as I pushed off the wall. When I turned around, she held a tiny little capsule between her bloody fingers. She dropped it to the concrete and squished it with her boot.
“There. Now we should be good to go. Let’s move.”
With a sigh filled with admiration, I pulled my shirt back on. “Lead the way, Piper. You know I’ll follow you anywhere.”
Those luscious lips parted into a sultry smile before she spun on her heel and started back down the tunnel. I paused, taking a moment to appreciate the way her ass swayed with each step before trotting after her.
CHAPTER FIVE
Piper
––––––––
I rapped the secret knock onto the red door on Tverskaya Street. A small window opened up, and Oleg’s amber eye appeared.
I leaned up so he could see my face. “Hey, Oleg. It’s me. Piper. We need a safe house for the night.”
His eye widened. “Piper! It’s you! It’s been years!”
The locks clicked before he whipped the door open. A moment later, he yanked me into his burly arms and wrapped me up tight. His grey beard smooshed against my face as he squeezed.
“Good to see you too,” I grunted out, his tight wrap making it hard to breathe. “But we need to get off the street. Quickly.”
“Oh! Yes, of course.” He stepped back and gestured for us to come in. After looking both ways, he shut the door and secured all the locks. “Were you followed?”
I shook my head. “We lost them in the Metro. Brooks hasn’t seen anyone on our tail since, and he’s watching the traffic cameras.”
“Good, good,” he said, his thick Russian accent making the words sound deeper. “Wait. Brooks? I didn’t think he was on your team.” His bushy brow furrowed. “And I thought you’d retired?”
“It’s a long story,” I said with a sigh.
With the flick of his wrist, he invited us to sit down on the corduroy couch I’d crashed on many times. Nothing in the one-bedroom apartment had changed since I’d last needed a hideout on a mission. Same outdated furniture, cluttered décor, and the smell of cigar smoke mixed with curry from the Indian restaurant next door.
