“Well, this is me. Have fun with Valentina.”
“Yeah. I will. It’s good to see you again, Carter. I missed you.”
I didn’t answer, instead hopping in the car quickly and telling him to step on it to get me to my girl. I couldn’t get to Jenna fast enough. The car had barely stopped when I opened the door and jumped out, rushing up her stairs and knocking.
When she opened the door with a smile, wearing a pair of cute flannel pajamas, all the stress and anxiety I’d been drowning in dissipated with one look.
“Hi,” she grinned. “How was your ni—”
I didn’t let her finish the sentence, instead crushing her mouth with a kiss as I pulled her into my arms and kicked the door shut behind me.
I didn’t want to answer her question and tell her how much more complicated my life had just gotten since I’d last seen her. Instead, I buried my frustration in the power of my kiss. She responded to my touch, moaning into my mouth as I pushed her up against the wall. Each swirl of her tongue erased a little more of the stress Camilla brought into my life.
Jenna’s soft hands lifting my shirt eradicated any worry I had about what awaited us when this weekend came to an end. One kiss from those lips that I loved, and everything else faded away but me and her. Her and me. Us. Always us. My problems would still be there in the morning, but tonight... tonight, all I cared about was Jenna.
The softness of her skin. The heat in her kiss. The warmth I felt when I buried myself in her body. We didn’t even make it up the stairs before I ripped off her shirt and tossed it on the floor. Passion overtook us as I pushed her backward onto the couch and settled between her legs.
“You really missed me, huh,” she teased between kisses as I tugged off her pajama pants and underwear.
“I’ve been missing you for a decade, and now that I have you back, I don’t want to be away from you one more minute. It’s you and me now, Jenna. Always.”
Tonight, I didn’t want foreplay. I didn’t want slow and sensual like we’d done before. Tonight, I needed to sink inside of her with an urgency that vibrated my skin. She sighed as I took her mouth while I pushed inside of her. Her nails dug into my back as I went hard and deep. There was nothing outside of this room... nothing outside of her body... that could steal the joy I felt reconnecting with her again.
“Yes. Harder,” she panted.
I gave her what she wanted, hooking her leg over my shoulder and thrusting so intensely that I worried I may hurt her. But she only dug her nails in harder, pulling me deeper. The exquisite feeling of her skin on mine, her tongue with mine, her body with mine, reminded me that no matter what the future held, it held her, and nothing else mattered. I let all my anxieties drift away while we connected again and again, our passions rising with each movement. When she called my name out on repeat, I shuddered and collapsed on top of her.
“You need to go out with the boys more often if you’re gonna come home like that,” she joked.
Laughing, I rolled over and pulled her on top of me. “Just wait until I catch my second wind.”
She squealed when I kissed her then tossed her over my shoulder. Her laughter echoed through the house as I dragged her up to bed. My newfound problems would have to wait until tomorrow because tonight, all my attention was on her.
CHAPTER NINETEEN
JENNA
––––––––
Every muscle in my body protested but in the best way possible. Every ache came with a memory of how it’d gotten there... and visions of the man who’d been responsible.
Carter had always been passionate, but last night he’d cranked the dial up to an eleven. He’d been insatiable with his need to be with me, and I hadn’t complained for even one second about the power of his passion. Just remembering the heat between us last night made me flush.
I stretched my arm over my head to soothe the ache in my back while the coffee percolated in the pot beside me.
“Are you as sore as I am?” Carter asked, and I spun around to see him standing behind me.
One glance down at his shirtless torso and the rock-hard abs, and I was ready to go get some new aches and pains.
“Morning,” I sighed, walking over to greet him.
“Good morning, beautiful,” he said between kisses.
“Coffee is on and should help ease the hangover I’m assuming you have today.”
He grimaced. “I didn’t go too crazy, but I definitely have a bit of a headache. The rest of the guys were wasted, though, so I can only imagine how they’re feeling today.”
“Eric gonna be okay for the wedding rehearsal tonight?” I asked. “I warned him not to go too nuts. No one likes a groom stopping to puke in the rehearsal ceremony.”
