He shuddered and forced himself to pull words forward. “Yes, Sir.”
There was a crack and then a sharp stripe of pain flashed down his back. He jerked and cried out, absorbing the pain into himself.
The feeling came again, bright and clean, running down his other shoulder. It felt like that line of flesh was connected to every cell in his body.
After that, he didn’t keep track of the individual strokes raining down on him. His back felt blazing and vivid, all feeling concentrated into those lines of beautiful release.
Rising up through it was a towering wave of pleasure. It was pulling him under, everything coming together in his core.
The lash fell again and again in beautiful intensity.
“Tate, please!” he cried out.
The lash struck the backs of his thighs, bringing him out of the pleasure he was already immersed in and making it fresh and new again.
He pushed out his ass, seeking more of that glorious feeling on his tender thighs. He needed this like he needed air and Tate was giving it to him.
“Come baby. Come for me.”
Tate gave him two more hard strokes in that tender area where his thighs met his ass.
And Adam let himself be washed away.
Chapter 10.
The Eighth Night
Tate tapped his foot impatiently. He’d felt horrible about going into work this morning after such an intimate night with Adam last night.
His boy had been perfect, gorgeous, taking his marks. But not as beautiful as he was afterward as he lay in Tate’s arms, completely lost and floating.
When he’d eventually returned to himself, he snuggled in and pressed his open mouth to Tate’s neck. Not kissing or licking him, though. Tasting him, maybe?
It was a gesture that was uniquely Adam’s, and Tate loved it.
And then Adam had looked up at him and said, “Thank you. You’re such a good Daddy.” His voice was adoring, admiring. Maybe a bit wistful. Was it wistful?
Tate had been trying to dissect the phrase all day. Adam had been very clear that he wanted a Daddy. And equally unwilling to call Tate by that name, even though he had come close a few times.
So why you’re such a good Daddy and not thank you, Daddy? Did it mean he wasn’t interested? Or just not ready yet?
Tate felt like they had really connected this week. Like he’d given the best of himself and gotten the best of Adam in return. If this wasn’t enough, then he didn’t know what would be.
Which is why he was standing impatiently in front of the jewelry counter.
His heart wasn’t just racing because of what he wanted to do next, but also because he was late.
All day he’d been exchanging texts with his boy. Like the last time he’d gone into work, the messages were a mixture of caring, flirty, praising, and sexy. Everything seemed to be fine.
At around ten o’clock he’d decided that he needed to make a stop after work and told Adam that it looked like he’d be getting home around seven instead of six. Adam had thanked him for giving him the heads up and sent him a video of the new guitar song he was learning.
Everything seemed fine for the rest of the day.
But then he’d had to stay a little later at work. And then the jeweler wasn’t ready. Now it was 7:25, and he still didn’t know how much longer he’d be waiting. He’d texted several times without getting a response, and Adam wasn’t answering his phone. Should he leave?
Was being on time more important to Adam than this gesture, no matter how meaningful? Probably.
At last, the jeweler came back. He barely glanced at his purchase and rushed through the payment process.
