The chat window opened up and he could see his own text bubble with the automated text: “Have you been naughty or nice?”

It was probably fun and flirty to most people who sent it, a cute way to make an introduction. Saul froze.

There wasn’t a way to take it back. That was… definitely something they should consider for future versions of the program.

But maybe Levi wouldn’t notice. Maybe he wasn’t even logged into that account at all.

Maybe he could just tell Levi about the error, go home, delete the whole sandbox, and forget that any of this had ever happened.

Or maybe this was his subconscious telling him that he should reach out and grab everything that he’d ever wanted.

Not just grab, but kiss and spank and torment and soothe. Tie Levi down and not let him up until he admitted he was Saul’s and no one else’s.

A thousand thoughts raced through his head, pros and cons rising in waves as he tried to calculate each possible future. If Levi hadn’t seen the text, maybe he had just a little bit more time to figure it out.

And if he had, well, that wouldn’t be such a terribly bad thing, would it? Maybe this was a sign.

If Levi read it. If Levi responded. If Levi wanted this…

Levi looked up at him and smirked.

Levi

Levi adjusted another setting on JewBoy3’s profile. Rope play: yes. He could see PerfectDaddy. Rope play: no. He went away.

If he put it back and deselected the list item just above, puppy play, PerfectDaddy disappeared. But if he deselected both of them, PerfectDaddy was back.

It was maddening. He felt like he was getting closer, but there didn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to it.

It didn’t help that his own perfect Daddy was just an illusion, too.

He could tell that Saul was interested. The man watched him constantly. He smiled indulgently when Levi was being ridiculous. His eyes grew round when Levi moaned over his food. And when he thought Levi wasn’t looking, he devoured him with his gaze.

It had been a perfect evening, a beautiful oasis from reality. If they didn’t find the bug, he might be able to extend it a little into the morning and volunteer to come back in. But then it would have to end.

There had been a couple of times where Levi had even thought Saul was going to say something. Like when he’d wiped the accidentally-on-purpose blob of whipped cream off his nose. With a napkin, unfortunately.

But he’d given him the lovey Daddy face, the one that felt like magic swirling all around them.

It had made him start to hope for more. It had made him hope that Christy was right.

Levi clicked determinedly through another few settings and let the outputs run. When he asked for the full list of compatibilities on the back end, he could see a couple hundred more matches, but he wasn’t sure he had all of the distance settings the same. Ugh.

Maybe Levi should just ask Saul out.

Or maybe he needed to accept that Saul didn’t want what he did.

God, that would be so disappointing. He’d gone into this looking for an enjoyable few hours with his crush. The problem was just that it had been better than he could have imagined.

He’d noticed a new expression on Saul’s face today. He called it indulgent Daddy.

That had to mean something, didn’t it?

He’d tried so many times before with other guys, but they usually found his exuberance annoying. Or they expected it from him all the time.

Saul seemed to appreciate his silliness as well as his seriousness. They obviously worked well together when they were planning projects. He was pretty sure that the attraction between them was real.
