She hadn’t had a clue.
Now that Lena was with Dustin though, and he’d expressed interest in playing with a third partner, the thought kept circling back. Ash had a crush on her. A crush! Over the past few months, all of the playful flirting between them had started to take on another meaning.
Lena had even asked Ash flat-out if they were interested in playing with her and Daddy some time and Ash’s answer had been non-committal. The timing was bad, with Ash’s own relationship issues going on. But Lena couldn’t stop thinking about it.
She couldn’t stop that little flare that kept lighting up whenever she saw Ash doing, well, practically anything. Like stacking up their cards and pieces into an elaborate asymmetrical pyramid that somehow had structural integrity, all while kicking their legs up in the air and looking cute.
What Lena couldn’t decide is whether that spark of arousal was good or bad. Dustin had been so jealous when they first got together. Well, not quite jealous, they’d eventually figured out. He’d been insistent that she take the thing that was building between them seriously. What they’d started exploring more recently was that he enjoyed seeing her flirt, as long as she came home to his bed each night.
And she did. There wasn’t anywhere else she’d rather be. Dustin was everything to her.
But when Ash gave her that special wink, it still made her feel tingly all over. She hoped that was OK.
Ash finished up their turn and went back to playing on the floor, arranging their extra pieces into a fantastical and constantly shifting design. Just watching them—their body, the things they created—was like a constant performance. With the way they pounced and curled up on the ground, it wasn’t hard to imagine them as a little or a puppy, either.
Zhong sat above Ash in a cozy armchair, watching them with affection. He was a striking man, with bronzed skin, bulging muscles, and a strong chin setting off his round Asian features. In between turns, he dug into his pocket and pulled out a few coins, which he handed over to Ash without a word to incorporate into their creation.
It was the type of instinctive communication that made her feel all melty inside. Not that she wanted Zhong as her Daddy. She knew she would be too much for him to handle, with all of her prickly insecurities and fierce dramatics. She craved the fire that Dustin brought to their relationship.
But then Zhong finished his turn and looked up at her and Dustin, giving the two of them that same adoring smile. She knew it was mostly for Dustin, who had been half in love, or maybe all the way in love, with Zhong for most of his adult life. But it felt good to be included in that, too.
Lena realized it was her turn and shook herself out of all the fanciful thoughts she’d been having. Right now it was game night. An evening of relaxation with friends.
She took her turn, then rolled for Dustin and grabbed his cards. She poked his thigh. Here are your resources. She was signing in front of her body so he could only see half of it, but it would be enough for him to understand.
He leaned forward, dropping a kiss on her head. God, she lived for those kisses, though she would never tell him.
You should really build some settlements, Zhong chided Dustin. His coal-black eyes were filled with merriment at Dustin’s utter lack of interest in the game. Lena found the interactions between the two of them to be fascinating. They had a closeness that came of being lovers, at least at one point in the past, though that didn’t quite describe their relationship.
Lena had assured Dustin earlier today that she wasn’t jealous, but it was more than that. Knowing that Dustin and Zhong still had an important place in each others’ lives gave her confidence that Dustin wouldn’t abandon her either.
Ash poked their boyfriend. You weren’t supposed to tell him!
Zhong nipped playfully at Ash’s finger and then pulled it up to his mouth for a kiss. Ash giggled, crawling up from the spot where they’d been stretching on the floor and into their Daddy’s lap. They tried to poke him again, delighted when he snapped at them a second time, and then kissed all of their fingertips one by one.
Lena sometimes felt guilty for watching them, like she was witnessing something too private to share. But they never tried to hide it. It was more like the warmth and purity that radiated out from the couple enveloped her too.
She could never imagine herself just cuddling up to Dustin like that, even if she might have wanted to. She was too difficult, though she didn’t understand it herself sometimes. Obviously, some of it was the kink. But some of it was just her. Sometimes she wanted to cuddle, but it took work to get there. Mostly on Daddy’s part, since she was a brat. But on her part, too.
There were even days where they’d both set aside time for her to regress into middle space, to be Danger, and feel all of her Daddy’s love in playful presents and stern punishments. But she couldn’t always get there.
With Ash, half the time she didn’t know if they were big or verging on little. It seemed like it could change within the space of a few minutes when Zhong was around. It was easy to see why, when Zhong looked at them with such adoration and seemed to know exactly what they wanted before they even asked for it.
She loved that Ash had that freedom, but sometimes she wanted it for herself. What would it be like, rolling around on the floor with Ash, their bodies maybe brushing against each other? It was compelling in a way she hadn’t imagined before.
Dustin slipped an arm around her as he leaned forward to play. She let herself melt into his arms, since he was already here. And because it felt nice. She’d never have thought a year ago that she’d have any sort of long-term relationship, let alone with a Dom who loved her wildness and made it a point to fulfill her every wish. She still wasn’t sure what she’d done to deserve him.
Dustin lackadaisically built up a settlement, then added a few roads that mostly wandered into Ash’s territory, thank goodness.
Hey! Ash protested. What did I ever do to you?
Sorry, Dustin apologized, though he didn’t look sorry at all. Even if he was bored by the game, he still knew how to play it.
Lena stuck out her tongue at Ash, since Dustin’s moves brought her a little closer to winning. Daddy’s on my side, she told them. She didn’t think Dustin had done it on purpose, since that wasn’t his way. But it was fun to pretend and rile things up a bit.
Ash huffed, sticking their cute, pink tongue out in return.
It was hard not to think about touching their pale skin or kissing their painted lips. And now that she knew there was a possibility of maybe having a scene one day, maybe now that Ash had everything figured out with their own Daddy…
