Mateo: I don’t have any of that stuff.

Even typing the word felt too transgressive.

Jamie: You should tell Daddy Austin to buy it for you.

Mateo made a sort of ack noise that echoed too loudly in the empty bathroom.

Mateo: He hasn’t contacted me at all.

Jamie: I still bet he’d buy you makeup.

Really? The idea left him fluttery. Except that, of course, he couldn’t actually write to the man and… what? Demand that he buy him a present? Invite him to come over and see him in the makeup when he hadn’t even texted to say hello?

Jamie: You should ask him.

Jamie: It’d be good for him.

Good for him? Austin was an experienced Dom. He didn’t need annoying, inexperienced Mateo throwing himself at him again.

But then he remembered how Austin had said Jamie was staging an ‘intervention.’ Now that he knew Jamie, it sounded exactly like something he would do.

Either way, if Austin wanted to contact him, he would have reached out.

Mateo: I have my own money.

Jamie: Of course you do.

Jamie: That’s not the point of Daddies. Daddy Austin should spoil you.

Mateo didn’t answer. God, he would love to have Austin as his Daddy. At least he thought he would.

Or someone with just that perfect blend of stern and kind, vicious with a crop, but then snuggling him to sleep and buying him pretty things…

The idea of it was almost too bright, blinding like the sun.

Jamie sent him an eye-rolling emoji.

Jamie: If you don’t want to text him, I’ll tell you what to do.

That was how Mateo found himself, an hour later, sitting in the parking lot outside a place that sold fancy makeup.

His fingers shook as he looked over Jamie’s instructions.

He reminded himself, again, that there was no reason for anyone to suspect what the makeup was for.

But once he bought it for himself… there was no going back.

That was the part that really scared him.

What if he wore it once and then… couldn’t go back to his baggy, paint-splattered t-shirts and unkempt nails?

It felt like he might be unleashing a tornado.

He’d wanted it for so long, more desperately than he’d even admitted to himself.

He read Jamie’s instructions again.

Even though he had everything memorized.
