I reached for the condom in my nightstand. She took it from me, and I watched, transfixed, as she rolled it down my length with agonizing slowness.
Sloane guided me to her entrance, and I pushed inside.
“Okay?” I asked, my arms trembling with the effort to stay still. It took every ounce of my control not to bury myself to the hilt in one thrust.
She rolled her hips experimentally, and we both groaned. “Move, Knox. Please.”
I started slow, pulling almost all the way out before sliding back in. Deep, measured strokes that had Sloane gasping with each thrust. I wanted to memorize this. The feel of her around me. The sounds she made. The way her nails dug into my shoulders as pleasure built between us.
“You feel so good,” I murmured against her ear. “So perfect. Like you were made for me.”
Sloane dragged her tongue along the column of my throat and nipped my jaw. “Harder,” she demanded, her voice breathy and desperate. “I won’t break.”
Something primal surged through me at her words. I shifted my angle, hooking her knee over my elbow, opening her wider. Then I gave her what she asked for. Deeper, harder, faster. The headboard knocked against the wall with each pounding thrust, and Sloane’s cries grew louder.
“That’s it, baby. Take what you need.” I reached between us, adding more friction with my thumb. “Come on. I want to feel your sweet little body clenching around me.”
“Knox. Oh God. I’m so close.”
“I know.” I was close too, but I needed her to go first. “Come for me, Sloane.”
I pressed harder against her, and she shattered. Her inner walls clamped down, pulsing with her orgasm, and she screamed my name. The red-hot perfection of it pushed me over the edge. I buried myself deep and let go, my own release tearing through me with an intensity that left me shaking.
For long moments, we stayed locked together, both of us trembling, gasping for air. I pressed my forehead to hers, my arms barely supporting my weight.
“I love you,” I said again, because I needed her to hear it. To know it. “God, Sloane, I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” Her hands came up to cup my face, gentle and tender.
I withdrew carefully, dealing with the condom before gathering her into my arms. We lay tangled together in the moonlight, her head on my chest, my hand stroking lazy patterns down her spine. “I don’t want these moments to end.”
“They don’t have to,” she said. “You’re staying.”
I felt her smile against my skin, and I kissed the top of her head. “I am.”
We lay there for long moments, warm and blissful.
I let myself imagine staying, visualizing what life could look like here. With her. I had no idea how to run a business, but I knew I could. I’d done much harder things. Different things, but I was stubborn enough to figure it out. And Mom left good notes.
Plus, I’d do anything if it meant more nights in Sloane’s arms.
I wanted to believe anything was possible. Fate had brought Sloane into my life. Why not a successful business too?
Sloane rolled over, facing me in the moonlight. “What are you thinking about?”
“This.”
She smiled. “Me too.” She stroked my cheek and chest. “When the guys were leaving, you told them they could come back and help at Island Adventures. Do you think they will?”
“Maybe.” I wet my lips, daring to speak the next thought out loud. “I think we could make it more than just an excursion company.”
Her brows rose, and I could practically here her business mind snapping into action. “How?”
“Maggie said it can get rowdy here in the busy season. Maybe we can offer personal protection or security. A separate business in the same building. Share the overhead and the outreach.”
“Rent a paddle board, get a bodyguard?” she suggested.
I laughed. “Something like that.”
