He shakes his head. “I said prospects. I’ll iron out the details after the honeymoon, and you guys will be the first to know.”

“I thought you were going to Hawaii after Christmas,” I say.

“That’s the real honeymoon. Academy closes for two weeks after Christmas, so we’ll have more time, but we’re going to The Belicourt tonight and staying through the weekend. It’s a gift from Porter and Harleigh.”

Axle lets out a low whistle.

“What’s The Belicourt?” Chord asks.

“Luxury resort. About an hour up into the Tetons,” Albert answers. “Harleigh’s boyfriend, Porter’s, family owns it.”

Porter Garrison comes from old money, the likes of which most of us will never see in ten lifetimes.

The Belicourt sits high in the Tetons, tucked away from everything. Beautiful views. Snowcapped peaks. Fancy ski lodge.

“Sounds like a nice mini moon,” Chord says.

Bryce’s smile grows. “A private cottage. Gourmet meals in the cottage. Champagne. In-room couples massages.”

Axle puts both hands up. “We don’t need to hear anything else.”

Bryce laughs, and I glance over to see his hand shake slightly as he adjusts his cuffs.

“Nervous?”

He stares at me like I’ve lost my mind. “Not one damn bit.”

I laugh as I nod to his hand that is still vibrating. He flexes it.

“Nah, just excited,” he says. “I can’t wait to put that ring on Charli’s finger.”

He smiles to himself, and I watch my friend standing there in his wedding clothes, completely certain about the woman waiting for him.

He’s a lucky man.

There’s a soft knock at the door, and Grandpa Earl steps inside.

“I’ve been sent to make sure the groom hasn’t gotten cold feet,” he says.

“Toes are nice and toasty,” Bryce assures him.

“Good, because it’s go time.”

Bryce grabs his new black Outlaw Heritage hat and places it on his head.

The rest of us follow suit, and I clap him on the shoulder and grin.

“Come on. Let’s go get you hitched.”

His smile is immediate. “Hell yeah.”

Royce

The music changes.

The guitarist shifts into a slow, familiar melody, the notes carrying across the arena and out over the ranch. Conversation fades immediately.

I straighten, and Axle and Cabe do the same. Chord stands at Bryce’s shoulder, his hands clasped loosely in front of him.
