“Sorry, baby, I can’t hear you.” He smirks, pulling himself out of me.
“I said, fucking move.”
“Say please like a good girl.”
I grit my teeth. This fucking man. “Please.”
“I’m sorry, that was a whisper. Did you say please?”
“PLEASE!”
He slams his dick back into me and my back arches. His mouth finds my nipples, which take a minute to pebble, and he continues to thrust in and out of me. Just as he enters, he angles his hips, and my mind goes numb. This man is going to send me into oblivion. I feel like a virgin.
“Think you can give me one more, baby?”
“Absolutely fucking not,” I say.
“Wanna bet?” He asks. And just like that, I forget all of my insecurities and lean into the next orgasm he wants to send me into. I’ve not so much as touched the man sexually, but at the same time I feel his dick pulsing as he spills inside of me, jerking as he slows his thrusts down once he’s finished. My legs are wrapped so tightly around his waist I have a cramp in my thigh, but I’m too scared to let go in case this is all a figment of my imagination.
He leans over me, his forehead wet with sweat and his hair damp, while I’m still lying on my back like a pillow princess, and kisses me. Not a seductive kiss that says he wants to go for another round, an emotional kiss. One that says more through his actions than he can with his words.
“What was that for?” I ask.
“I just wanted to reassure you. I know the minute we move from this position, you’ll be in your head and asking yourself whether this was because I desire you or just wanted the pleasure of being with you.”
“They’re both the same thing.”
“No, baby, they’re not. There is a difference. Pleasure is something you feel for someone you wish to conquer. It’s fleeting, temporary. Desire has the ability to renew itself, finding that love and attraction over and over again. I don’t want to fall into that trap where you think I no longer desire you. Because what I feel for you is so much more.
He goes to the bathroom and comes back with a washcloth. I try to cover myself over, but he opens my legs and starts to clean me. I hide my face behind a pillow. “One day, you’ll look at me as I do this, and it will be the best day of my entire life.” He chucks the cloth in the basket, opens the door to call for Ted, and climbs into bed beside me. For the first time we are intentionally sharing a bed. Going to sleep with his arms wrapped around me encased in his scent is what dreams are made of. And they’re dreams I never thought I’d get to live.
Ted plods into the room and jumps onto the bed. He plops himself in front of me. Harley turns my face towards his. “Goodnight. Sweet dreams, Little Magpie.”
Chapter Forty-Seven
Harley - Present Day
I woke up this morning with Quinn in my arms, and all was right with the world. We’re about halfway through her sessions now. She’s recovering more memories than processing, but it’s a starting point and something we can continue over time.
She stirs beside me as she wakes up, then turns to take in her
surroundings, and when her eyes land on me, they light up. “Good morning, Bones. So last night really happened then?”
“Yes, baby. Yes, it did. Any regrets?”
“Never. Although my body doesn’t appreciate all of the positions you put me in. It kills.”
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I didn’t even think about—”
She puts a finger to my lips. “Ssshh. I was only joking. It’s a nice distraction from the usual pain. And something I could be convinced to do again.” She blushes and hides her head in my chest.
“Stop that right now.” I lift her head, forcing her to look at me. “You never need to be embarrassed with me.”
“I know. It’s just easier said than done.”
She lies there for a second before a look of pure panic registers on her face. “What is it?” I ask.
“I’ve come on my period,” she says, looking mortified.
