I blinked, a rush of dizziness making it difficult for me to process what was happening.

Why was Sienna in here?

“Get…off…” I tried to growl, weakly shoving at her narrow hips.

“Theo, that was amazing!” she screeched, and I winced.

My head was fucking pounding.

“Off… Sienna…” I tried again, but she wasn’t listening.

Suddenly, she wasn’t on my lap anymore, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

I must have managed to push her off. Thank god.

Then, Cassandra’s cold voice rolled through the fog of my very obvious concussion, and I shuddered.

“Put your hands on her again, and I will fucking kill you.”

Those were the last words I heard before everything went dark.

Iblinked back into consciousness to find a frantic Cassandra barking orders at one of the medics who worked for the league.

The man was all up in my face, pulling my eyelids back and flashing a super annoying flashlight in my eyes.

“Get off... I’m awake,” I snapped, brushing the medic away.

The man stepped back, pursing his lips.

“Theo!” Cass shouted, and suddenly, she was cradling my face.

Her fingers were freezing, and I winced as she gripped my bruised cheeks.

“Fuck, thank god. Are you okay? Talk to me. Say something!”

I smirked at her, chuckling.

“Hey, princess,” I croaked. “Your ass looks amazing in those leggings.”

She visibly relaxed at my attempt at a joke, and her gorgeous face crumbled before my eyes.

I frowned, reaching forward like an idiot to cup her beautiful face.

“Aww, baby girl. Don’t look at me like that. I’m okay. I’m alright,” I whispered, hating that I was the reason she looked so upset.

“I was so fucking worried, Theo. I don’t think I’ve ever been so scared in my life. I thought that bitch was going to kill you!”

She was suddenly on her knees next to the chair with her arms wrapped around my neck. I pulled her into me as she buried her face in my throat, surprised to find that she was literally shaking.

Guilt swirled in my gut as I held her against me. Her vanilla shampoo cut through my persistent brain fog and brought me more solidly back into the land of the living.

“Shhh, you don’t have to worry, baby girl. It takes a lot more than that to kill me. I’m fine.”

“You’re not fine,” the medic said, which made me want to put him in a headlock. “You have a mild concussion. You’re going to be out of commission for at least a week. Preferably two.”

Both Jerry and I cursed, and Cassandra was suddenly missing from my arms.

She was advancing on the medic so aggressively that he took a step back.
