“Let’s drop it and talk about something else. If this is how all the visits are going to go, I’ll decline them,” he warns.

“Fine, what do you want to talk about?” I ask.

“How about what everyone is up to at home? You can give me the monthly gossip.”

I smile. “That I can do. Jane had a pregnancy scare. She was freaking out, but Mac was overjoyed. I think he’s secretly trying to get her pregnant now.”

Acid smiles wide. “He loves those two kids. I never thought I would see him be a father.”

Tank snorts. “I don’t know if he actually wants another crotch goblin or he is enjoying what it takes to make one.”

“Gross, I do not want to hear about those two having sex.” I grimace.

“What about Gunner and Sloane? Has he managed to knock her up yet?” Acid asks.

“It’s been two months. Trust me, Sloane isn’t letting him impregnate her anytime soon. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction.” Tank laughs.

“I think Kelly wants another one. Now that their little one is three, I think she is getting the itch,” I admit.

“I bet. What about you? You got the itch?”

I laugh. “I wouldn’t say it’s an itch, but I wouldn’t mind either way. What about you, Tank?”

I look over at him and see a feral look on his face. “I think I am going to enjoy what happens when we leave here.”

I tsk my tongue. “Only if you are a good boy.”

“Oh god. Okay, enough of all of that. Gross. Next subject.”

For the rest of the visit, we chat about everything and nothing at all. We tell him that Kelly’s license was reinstated after the investigation was dropped and how things for Crow are also back to normal. How everything was dismissed once Blaine was taken care of. Then the conversation shifts, and we keep Acid laughing until the moment they call that the visit is ending.

“You don’t have to come back next month,” he tells me as he stands.

“Am I allowed to hug him?” I call out to a guard.

He nods so I step forward, hugging Acid.

“I will be here every single month until you are released. There is nothing you can do to change that. See you next month. If you need anything, you let me know,” I tell him.

“I will. You are a good woman.”

I smile. “I know. Be safe.”

“Yeah, don’t drop the soap,” Tank jokes.

“Shut up. I’ll see you next month then.”

We watch him being led away before we go through the process of leaving the prison. When we get to Tank’s bike, I turn to him, hugging him tight.

“Will he really be okay?” I ask.

“He will be. We will make sure of it.”

I sigh. “I love you, Warren.”

“I love you, Laney. Let’s go home.”
