“What did you think?” she asked, still keeping me close.

“Good,” I whispered, a little dazed. “But don’t kisses need tongue?”

“Not necessarily,” she explained, her hands trailing along my neck, caressing my ear. “Do you want to try with tongue?”

“I do,” I replied, my heart pounding.

Aish turned me toward Hiro, and now we reversed positions. She stayed behind me, pressing her body against mine, while Hiro took my hands and placed them on his shoulders, caressing my face.

Aish’s hands explored the area just below my breasts as she pulled my hair to the side, kissing my neck from behind. A wet sound escaped my lips before I could even register it. Gods, that felt good. I never thought a kiss on the neck could feel so good.

Hiro placed his hands on my waist and moved closer, pressing his body to mine. He was much taller than me, and I had to stand on tiptoe. His hand wandered over my face, his eyes taking me in.

“You okay?” he asked, his eyes lingering on me. I smiled hazily, but even drunk, I could tell he was checking if I was comfortable.

“Yes,” I murmured, happy to be touched like that.

He leaned down slowly, his lips meeting mine without hesitation. It was a direct kiss—just like him. It wasn’t gentle like Aish’s; his touch was more aggressive, yet skillful. His soft lips claimed my mouth hungrily. I kissed him back, pressing myself against him as his mouth guided mine in slow, deep movements while I ran my hands through his hair—too short to grab onto.

Deep in my mind, I felt something stirring. I couldn’t tell what it was, but it was bothering me.

Hiro nibbled my lower lip and tugged it slowly, drawing a moan of pleasure from my throat. Then he traced my lower lip with his tongue, and I opened my mouth to let him in. His tongue met mine, and he moved his lips as if coaxing me to respond, so I did, matching his rhythm. And wow! Kissing Hiro Zois was really good. I wondered why I’d never tried it before.

Aish’s hand slid up to the base of my breast, her fingers caressing a sensitive spot there. The touch made me moan involuntarily into Hiro’s mouth, earning me another delicious bite.

Now the discomfort shifted from mild to maddening. It felt like something was hammering inside my head.

“Wait,” I said to Hiro, pulling away and blinking against the headache that was devouring me.

“Did I do something wrong?” Hiro looked at me with concern. His eyes were green, but the wrong shade...

Something was missing. Something.

Two blue-green eyes flooded my mind. They held a touch of desperation.

Suddenly I remembered. The problem was that Hiro’s eyes, though beautiful, weren’t war eyes—and what was screaming in my head was the bond, protesting that this was deeply wrong.

All the euphoria flooding my nervous system simply deflated like a balloon being emptied too fast. I felt a hollow void in the middle of my chest. I stared at my surroundings, dazed, and now everything made me dizzy: the music was too loud, people were packed too close together, and the place reeked of alcohol, pheromones, and sex.

I needed to get out of there immediately.

“I’m sorry, guys. You didn’t do anything wrong, but I need to leave right now.”

My voice was slurred, and I didn’t wait for an answer—just launched myself toward the stairs. On the way, I bumped into a lot of people, and a group of men locked their eyes on me.

When I reached the stairs, I saw Breno pinning a girl against the wall, the blonde’s legs wrapped around his waist as they kissed ferociously while he ground against her in a slow rhythm. I wasn’t sure what I was seeing, but it looked like her dress was bunched up around her waist, and maybe they were doing more than just kissing. The bond vibrated once more in my mind, and I stopped looking.

I climbed the stairs with difficulty, gripping the railing so I wouldn’t fall. When had my legs turned to jelly? Around me, everything was spinning, and the blue light made me feel like I was hallucinating.

I stepped out through the little door and gulped in fresh air. I was panting like a pig about to be gutted, and although my vision wouldn’t focus on anything, I noticed the street was empty. Not a single soul out here. I felt like lying down on the ground—it seemed like a good idea to ease the dizziness—but just as I was about to crouch down, the back door swung open and five men came out. They looked like the same group of blond guys from the interior I’d bumped into leaving the party. One of them, with an elongated face full of piercings, walked casually up to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

“Hey there, hottie!” I stared in confusion at the hand on my arm. I didn’t know any of these men, and this one in particular was big and intimidating. “Need a ride? We can help you get home.”

I pulled back instinctively, shaking off his hand. I was drunk, but I still valued my life.

“With you? No way,” I replied, staggering.

“You’re going to call a taxi anyway, aren’t you? We can take you.”
