She screams, her orgasm ripping through her as my teeth sink into her free shoulder. The bond slams into place, searing hot, undeniable. At the same time, my knot swells, locking me deep inside her.
Her body clenches around me, milking every drop as I spill into her, and the sensation is almost too much—her slick heat gripping tight, my knot sealing us together, her pulse fluttering fast under my mouth where I bit her.
I groan against her skin, grinding up hard to make sure she feels every ounce of me. She whimpers but doesn’t push me away, her nails raking my back as she rides out another wave.
When the last tremors fade, I ease back from her shoulder, licking the mark I’ve left. She’s still panting, wide-eyed, one hand sliding down to where we’re joined, her fingers brushing the swollen knot that keeps us fused.
“So much for not making promises,” she whispers, voice shaking but steady.
We’re still joined, my knot locking us tight, her body trembling around me in little aftershocks. I try to catch my breath, but then her hand slips lower, fingers curling around the base of me where I’m swollen thick inside her. She strokes lightly, teasing pressure against the knot where it joins my torso, and the sound that rips out of me is raw. My head tips back, eyes closing as my spine arches helplessly, every nerve ending on fire.
“Reese—” I choke out, but she only smiles, lips brushing my throat. Then her teeth scrape over my Adam’s apple before sinking in just enough to sting. Not deep, not breaking skin, but deliberate. Her own claim.
The growl that tears out of me is half warning, half surrender. She shifts her hips, squirming around my knot, sending jolts through both of us. My hands find her back, tracing up and down slowly, steadying her, grounding myself in the rhythm of her breath.
For a moment, there’s no team, no chaos, no future waiting to crash down on us. Just this—her wrapped tight around me, me locked inside her, two halves daring to believe we can be whole together.
We lie there in silence, both trembling. I can feel her through the new bond, a warm presence at the edge of my consciousness. After several minutes like that, I finally find the courage to speak.
"I'm sorry, I—"
She kisses me, cutting off my apology. "Don't. I wanted it too."
"Yeah?"
"Absolutely." She traces the bite mark on her shoulder.
"You're really considering it. The pack bond."
"I think we're past considering." She looks at me. "Beckett Monroe, who swore he'd never be tied down, just claimed me. If that's not a sign..."
"If I can do it, anyone can?"
"That's not what I meant."
"I know." I pull her closer. "But it's true. If I can look at you and see forever, Tyler can get over his family shit. Gray can tell his father to fuck off. We can make this work."
She's quiet for a moment. "You really believe that?"
"I believe in us. All of us. For the first time in my life, I actually believe in something bigger than myself."
She kisses me again, soft and sweet. "You're definitely not as simple as you pretend."
"Told you."
We stay like that until we hear the front door open downstairs. Multiple voices. The team returning.
"I should go," she says, but doesn't move.
"Or you could stay. Let them see. Make it real."
She looks at me for a long moment, then nods. "Okay."
As she gets dressed, I watch my bite mark already starting to heal on her shoulder. Two of us have fully claimed her. The team's going to lose their minds.
But as we head downstairs together, her hand in mine, I realize I don't care. Let them see. Let Quinton see when he inevitably starts sniffing around her again. Let the whole damn school see.
Beckett Monroe doesn't do relationships. Doesn't do commitment. Doesn't do forever.
