“Good,” he said. Wayla kept her legs wrapped around his waist and he had no plans to set her down.
“Precious,” Jarred said, reaching up to cup her cheek. “Look at me?”
Slowly, Wayla’s eyes focused on Jarred. Some sense seemed to return to her, but before she could tense up, Irishen spoke.
“It’s all right, morsel. We’ve got you. It’s all right.”
“Yeah,” Jarred agreed. “Just let us take care of you for a second.”
“If anyone cares, her aura seems to have settled, too,” Salis said, ever the helpful commentator. “Now, if you three are done with dry humping, I need to get to class.”
“I—”
“You need to rest, morsel.”
“But—” Wave shook herself, groaned, and then the most adorable pout spread over her lips.
Irishen kept his expression stern. “No pouting, morsel. You’ll get your orgasm later.”
Wayla snarled, finally struggling to get down. Irishen refused to let go of her.
“I’ll take care of that myself,” she huffed.
“By all means.” Irishen chuckled. “Do you want to go to class or home to take care of it?”
Wayla looked like she wanted to tell him to go to hell, but to his utter astonishment, she replied, “Home.” Irishen’s grin dropped when she poked his chest. “And you are not allowed inside.”
Well, shit.
Still, he could feel a slight echo of disappointment behind her statement, and that gave him hope. So, he did what any good mate would do and carried his mate home to her vibrators. Really, if that didn’t get some points in his favor, nothing would. He didn’t even comment on Jarred following along, especially since Wayla told both of them to wait in the corridor.
Once the door closed behind her, Jarred groaned and dropped down to sit on the floor.
“She’s going to be a while.”
Chapter 18 – Wave
In the end, it only took breaking one toy to get her siren side somewhat under control. That part of her wanted to call in the men waiting on the other side of the door. It was a wonder she hadn’t slipped in her haze.
When she emerged, Jarred and Risha just hopped off the floor where they had been sitting and walked her back to campus. Neither said a word about what happened. Both kissed her cheek before leaving her with Salis.
Wave looked after them, her mind still spinning.
She had missed two classes and fully expected to get endless shit comments from Salis, who eyed the scarf around her neck. The bruises around her neck weren’t healing as quick as she had thought.
They made their way toward her next class and she tried to concentrate on pulling her aura down when yet another student, fire demon, two years higher class than her, slipped into a bathroom to get out of her way.
“Don’t make me call His Icicle,” Salis said as soon as he noticed the difference.
“But—”
“No. I don’t want to have my wings frosted over. You are going to let your aura breathe.”
“Everyone is acting fucking weird,” she harrumphed but didn’t try to damp down as hard. Just a little, to see at what point Salis noticed her trying. It wasn’t like her entire aura was rolling freely anyway. She’d tucked half of it away before exiting her bedroom.
She’d wrapped her stormbringer powers around her siren heart and pushed until there were no traces of it left. The trouble was that her control kept slipping constantly. On both sides.
Salis flicked her nose. “Well, you did just flatten everyone in that courtyard with your aura.”
