His smile widened.

The smile disappeared. Immediately.
Because suddenly Bennett understood this wasn’t teasing.
This had actually hurt her.
The realization sobered him.

Silence stretched.
“You slept with her.”
“Yes.”
“You were together.”
“Yes.”
“You took her into your office.”
“I did.”
“You closed the door.”

Her frustration finally broke free.
“Then what exactly am I supposed to think?”
