We collapsed on the couch, sweaty and spent but completely satisfied. A look of pure love washed over his face before he pulled me into his chest and kissed the top of my head.
“I love you,” he whispered.
I smiled against his chest, content in his arms. “I love you too.”
He kissed my neck. “We should probably get some clothes back on. I don’t want to meet your parents with my dick hanging out. Your mom might enjoy it but your dad sure won’t.”
I burst into laughter. “That would certainly be awkward.” But neither of us moved. “Maybe I’ll call them and tell them we’ll need a raincheck.”
I nuzzled my face against Nikko’s chest where I could listen closely to his strong heartbeat thumping away under his flesh. His heart belonged to me and vice versa.
He kissed the top of my head again, a simple affectionate gesture that told me everything was alright in our little world. “I’m sure they’ll understand,” he murmured, his fingers tracing lazy circles on my back.
“We could tell them we’re busy with… house stuff,” I suggested, the corners of my mouth turning up into a mischievous smile.
Nikko chuckled, the sound warm and rich. “Yes, indeed. Very important house stuff.”
We lay there for a while longer, just holding each other in the quiet comfort of the living room. It was one of those perfect moments where time seemed to stand still and nothing else mattered except for the two of us together.
Eventually, though, reality nudged at us gently. Nikko shifted beneath me. “We really should get up,” he sighed but made no move to actually rise.
“Just a few more minutes,” I whispered, tightening my hold on him slightly.
“As you wish.” He settled back down, his arms loose around me. And for a few more precious minutes, we stayed entwined on that couch, lost in each other.
“Alright,” I sighed. “We really should get dressed.”
Reluctantly, we disentangled ourselves from the cozy warmth of each other’s arms. I stood first, stretching out the mild stiffness that had settled in my limbs from our time on the couch. Nikko watched me with a smile that was part amusement and part adoration, his eyes following my every move as I gathered our scattered clothing from around the room.
I tossed him his shirt. He caught it effortlessly and pulled it over his head, his muscles flexing and making me rethink my idea to get off him. I couldn’t help but pause and admire him for a moment. Every line of his body was endlessly fascinating, even though I was becoming intimately familiar with it.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he teased, noticing my stare. “Or we’ll end up right back where we started.”
I laughed and shook my head. “And wouldn’t that be a shame,” I replied sarcastically.
After slipping into my own clothes, I watched as Nikko adjusted himself into his jeans, buttoning them with a casual dexterity. He approached me, slipping his arms around my waist from behind and resting his chin atop my head. “Ready to face the world?” he asked softly.
“Only if it’s with you,” I answered, turning within his embrace to face him.
He pulled his head back and looked at me. I saw him scrunch up his nose.
“What?” I asked.
“You should probably fix your hair. And makeup. And I should brush my teeth after having my dessert before dinner.”
He winked as I blushed. Laughing, I swatted at his arm playfully. “You’re terrible,” I said, but the warmth in my voice betrayed my affection for his teasing ways.
“I know.” He grinned, releasing me to make his way toward the bathroom. “But you love it.”
I watched him go, love swelling in my chest. I went into my bedroom to check my reflection in my makeup mirror.
“Shit,” I murmured when I got a good look.
I began to redo my sex hair, attempting to tame the wild tresses back into something resembling order. The reflection showed a woman glowing with the aftermath of deep love and satisfaction, her eyes bright and alive.
I applied a quick layer of gloss and smoothed down my outfit. I couldn’t help but let my thoughts drift to Nikko meeting my parents. A flutter of nervous excitement tickled my stomach. It was a significant step, one that spoke volumes about the seriousness of our relationship. Maybe it was happening a little quickly but everything with Nikko was like that. Our connection was so intense and so natural that everything else just fell into place naturally.
Nikko returned then, minty fresh and handsome as ever, and caught me in his gaze through the mirror. He wrapped his arms around me once more, a gesture that had become a comforting constant in my world.
