His hands grabbed my hips, gripping me like he’d been waiting for this moment his whole life. I slid my hands down his back and felt the muscles ripple under my touch. His tongue was halfway down my throat and his hard length pressed against my belly right through his black jeans. My fingers found their way to his thick, dark hair, tugging just enough to elicit a low growl from him that sent shivers racing down my spine. Every nerve in my body was on high alert, singing with a need I’d never felt before.

“You good?” he asked, pulling back just enough to search my face. His gaze was intense but soft around the edges. It was the first moment I realized there might be more to him than the bad-boy vibe he wore like a second skin.

“Yeah,” I whispered, my voice barely audible over the pounding in my chest. “More than good.”

He flashed that devil-may-care grin that had me throwing caution to the wind in the first place. “Good. Because I’m just getting started.”

His mouth moved to my neck. I didn’t know how, but it was like he knew exactly where to kiss me. And then he bit me. He was not gentle as his teeth scraped over my flesh. Goosebumps erupted all over my skin. I tilted my head to the side to give him better access.

His lips found mine again. I lost myself in the way he kissed—like he was trying to devour me whole. I could taste the whiskey on his tongue and found myself craving more of it. My hands tried to touch him everywhere at once.

“You’re stunning,” he murmured against my neck, his breath warm and teasing against my skin. “And you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for someone like you to walk into my life.”

I wanted to reply with something sarcastic, to keep up the pretense that I wasn’t completely undone by him. But all that came out was a soft moan as his lips found a particularly sensitive spot just below my ear. He chuckled, clearly pleased with himself, and the sound sent another wave of heat coursing through me.

“Nikko,” I whispered, not entirely sure what I was asking for but knowing I needed more.

“I’ve got you,” he promised, his voice a soothing rumble.

For some reason, I believed him.

“I think it’s time we get you out of this dress,” he said with his hands already moving up my back to find the zipper.

My heart was racing as his fingers danced over my skin, pulling down the zipper. The cold air brushed over my bare skin and I shivered.

Thank God I wore my sexy panties.

Nikko pulled away slightly but only so he could slide my dress off my shoulders. It pooled around my high heels, forgotten. His blue eyes locked onto mine as he helped me step out of it. I knew the second I took off my heels I was going to be staring at his chest. He was so freaking tall!

He took his time savoring every inch of me on display before moving closer again. His warm breath caressed my neck, sending shivers down my spine. He stepped back and looked at me. Like really looked at me.

I was suddenly acutely aware of how exposed I was. His gaze swept over me with an appreciation that made me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. I never imagined someone like me getting a look like that from a man like him.

“Damn,” he muttered, his voice thick with reverence. “You’re a work of art.”

I laughed, a breathless, slightly nervous sound. “I’m guessing you say that to all the women you pick up at the bar.”

He grinned, his hands brushing over my sides in a way that made me shiver. “I know art when I see it.”

Before I could protest—or fall even harder for that dangerous charm of his—he kissed me again, effectively silencing any coherent thought. His lips trailed down my neck, across my collarbone, and lower still, leaving fire in their wake. Every touch, every kiss, was deliberate, like he was taking his time.

“You okay?” he asked again, his eyes searching mine as his hands came to rest on my hips.

“Yeah,” I said, my voice steadier this time. “More than okay.”

“Good,” he said, his grin returning. “Because I plan on making this a night you’ll never forget.”

For the first time in forever, I let go of all my worries and just felt. Nikko was fully in control, and I was totally at his mercy—and I loved every second of it.

I loved that I wasn’t the boss. I could just give in to the pleasure. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt so alive. He kissed my cheek and down my jaw before pulling back and looking at me once again.

“You’re something else, Hannah,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “Something good.”

For a moment, I couldn’t speak. Finally, I managed a small, wry smile. “Do you think we could, uh, maybe get you a little less clothed? I’m feeling a little exposed here.”

He chuckled. “Of course,” he said.

I watched as Nikko pulled his shirt off. Defined muscles—just as I suspected. And a lot of ink. Wow.
